Ten years after the U.S. Air Force closed its books on the claim that a UFO crashed in Roswell, N.M., in 1947, a top Democratic Party figure wants to reopen the investigation into the cosmic legend.
Despite denials by federal officials, many UFO buffs cherish the notion that in early summer of 1947, a flying saucer crashed in rural Roswell, scattering alien bodies and saucer debris across the terrain.
Now Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, who chaired the recent Democratic convention in Boston, says in his foreword to a new book that "the mystery surrounding this crash has never been adequately explained -- not by independent investigators, and not by the U.S. government. ... There are as many theories as there are official explanations.
"Clearly, it would help everyone if the U.S. government disclosed everything it knows," says Richardson, who served as Energy secretary under President Bill Clinton. "The American people can handle the truth -- no matter how bizarre or mundane. ... With full disclosure and our best scientific investigation, we should be able to find out what happened on that fateful day in July 1947."

Did you have any missing time?
Not at all, but it moved so slowly that it took a great deal of time to pass!
What are your thoughts and feelings regarding the Greer docs?
Yes, I am beginning to conclude that guys like Doug9732 -- let's refer to them as "D-Prototypes" -- are inable to ponder the possibility that my husband, stepson, Solamente, etc., are honest witnesses, because D-Prototypes lack the security to contemplate something that upsets their set beliefs.
My bet would be that the D-Prototype is typically an atheist. He would lose his spiritual compass entirely if his precepts of physical reality were upset, hence D-Prototype's mulish insistence that you, my husband, Solamente, and other UFO witnesses (D-Prototype calls them "believers" because he cannot accept the difference between faith and knowledge -- I have faith in God, but it is not on faith that I accept that two plus two is four; I don't "believe" in math, I KNOW math!) are delusional. Any other possibility poses too great a threat to D-Prototype's cozy world view.
Pray for all atheists that they may realize God, and tap into the deep security received through faith to face scary truths rather than avoiding them through mulish denial. Pray for me that I avoid similar traps for having improper pride in my own faith.
Jebus, Mary and Joseph. At first glance, it looks like that alien is doing something else besides shaking Bubba's hand!
Fitting points, imho.
I do think, however, that people who believe in God--good Christians--also are terrified at having their tidy little boxes shredded by paradigm shifts that are toooooo jangley.
I think it also gets back to the issue of
RELIGION VS RELATIONSHIP.
God requires we have an ongoing dialogue sort of RELATIONSHIP with Him. Jesus said: MY SHEEP KNOW MY VOICE.
But, from before the pharisees . . . back in Old Testament times until today--mankind has found RELIGION much more comfortable. Religion can be twisted and tortured into anything any self-serving ego maniac or simply fearful person or simply an insecure person wants it to be to serve their own ends.
The Bible has been used to justify all kinds of craziness and evil in the name of RELIGION etc.
Certainly I think you are right that insecurities are at the root.
Our security has to be in our relationship with God.
When the ET stuff starts coming out in waves, in a flood, then truly, as The Bible says, many hearts will fail them for fear.
Life is plenty complex. And, in our era, it looks like much that we've taken for 'reality' will be turned upside down and inside out--perhaps on alternate days.
Only our relationship with God will be our high tower; our defense; our sanity; our hope. And we'd better be practiced at listening to Him if we want to know how and where to step next.
It is conceivable to me, that while I believe that 95-99% of the reported UFO's etc. are in cahoots with satan currently--it is conceivable to me that God could use His angels and some sort of craft. There is Ezekiel's chariot, on the record, after all. We'd better know how to discern between good and evil angels, if that's the case.
Mostly, I don't think God needs to bother with technology. He speaks and it happens. But He uses radio and TV and microphones so I guess He can use any technology He wants to, too.
It does get weary-ing and annoying when so many solid reports sorts of things about the UFO phenomena are available, that the derisive tendencies and assumptions--and the public gestalt carries the day instead of the evidence.
I'd guess that there are 1-2 dozen FREEPERS that I know of who've had first hand experiences. Some repeatedly. These are solid people. Many were as strong a skeptics as anyone before their experiences. I don't think such people deserve to be ridiculed AT ALL. And yet they get all kinds of horse biscuits shoveled on them at the drop of a hat. And that's supposed to be reasonable and more intellectually valid somehow. HOGWASH!
Sigh.
Anyway--thanks tons for your comments. Nice to have someone on this side with me for a change!
Just be practiced at ducking and hosing yourself off afterwards!
Bwa-hahahhha!! That was my thought, too!! Glad I wasn't the only one!!
... in our era, it looks like much that we've taken for 'reality' will be turned upside down and inside out ...
That has already started, has it not? Right is wrong, and wrong is right?
"delusional liars?"
I'm sure they saw something unusual, but may well have misinterpreted what they saw. It is up to those who support the "alien hypothesis" to provide the sort of evidence that would be admissable in a court of law. I'm willing to change my mind, but until they provide that evidence, I'm quite skeptical about the whole subject. The same goes for "global warming". I do, however, believe that Vincent Foster was murdered and TWA flight 800 was shot down!
About as much chance of that kind of technology getting out as there is of the income tax being repealed. The Democrats would never allow either, else what justification for their existence? They'd no longer have the ability to (1) buy votes or (2) appeal, as they do now, to greed and envy and promise to end "poverty."
I decided not to say anything since this is a rather polite forum. But I thought the same thing ... :D
Well put.
But, the world government will use at least some of it to implement, force the world government and maintain control.
as in
CONTROL!!!!
Thanks for posting that stuff, Quix, it is fascinating, as is the subject in general.
I will ask my husband and his now-grown son how they "misinterpreted" their view of several minutes' duration of a silent, upside-down spinning pie plate with windows no more than tree-top height a few houses away, and how their neighbors "misinterpreted" their sighting of the same thing at the same instant. Swamp gasses near Merced, no doubt!
As for supporting the "alien hypothesis" -- this is not a court of law, this is real life, where OJ actually IS guilty. No one has to prove anything, although you may choose to insist that they "prove" it to you. For what it's worth, "alien hypothesis" is secondary to the affect this had on my husband. Primary was the realization that he EITHER had to convince himself that he hadn't seen what he and others saw, OR accept that his precepts of physical reality were sorely deficient. The big question, to him, was not "alien," it was "do I believe my, my son's, and my neighbor's eyes, or do I tell myself that we all imagined it, and if we didn't imagine it, how can I believe in 'impossible' anymore?"
Evidence of the past, knowledge of human nature, and logic are why I, like you, think Foster was murdered, TWA was shot down, and human-caused "global warming" is a myth. For the same reasons, I think that extraterrestrial interstellar technology exists and has been seen by folks on this planet, and further, that there is a vast and concerted effort on the parts of many governments to keep it quiet. Even further ... I lean toward the opinion that efforts to keep it quiet are justified and wise.
I'll let you know once I read some of his interview transcripts I dl'ed.
My wife and I were crossing the high desert in SW Wyoming just last week and saw something strange. I should preface this by saying we are both licensed pilots, and I personally have been an avid pilot for more than 25 years flying everything from hang gliders to sailplanes, single engine and light twins with about 4000 hours accumulated airtime. This thing was gray, the shape of a hot air balloon, but about twice the size of a "normal" balloon, and was moving at jet speed about 500' off the ground. It passed between us and a small ridgeline that I would say was 1-2 miles to our north, giving me a pretty good reference as to the size. We talked about it all the way home. Balloons don't move like this, it could have been a powered parachute, but it was moving way too fast and it was pretty windy that day, probably too windy for a power 'chute. It was not a helecopter either. It flew in a semi-circular pattern starting in front of us and curving around as it passed. This was in the middle of the day in broad daylight, clear conditions, and what I would consider unlimited visibility. Neither of us have a clue as to what it was, but I sure would like to know....
Trent Farm photos taken June 1950 over McMinnville Oregon.
Funny how being threatened by the Men in black tends to keep peoples mouths shut. For a long time.
I have seen something similar to that, very clear image of something strange. I heard that is why they stopped live shuttle broadcasts, any truth to that?
Interesting thread, if you haven't seen it yet.
Thanks! I saw the original post, haven't read the follow-up yet--will catch up now. . .
