I was a kid bumping around Texas cow country at the time. One rancher bunked us in an old section house and I found the book in a kitchen drawer.

The boss saw it on the seat of the pickup a few days later and had a fit. He wanted to know if anyone else had seen it or me reading it. I said that I didn't think so and he calmed down a bunch. He said that I could be hurt bad if certain people saw me with it.

I told him that I thought it was a truthful book. He said it was but it wasn't the whole story. Over the next few weeks he told me a lot more about Johnson, John Connoly and a lot of people whose names I can't remember. Texas politics can be rough.

Soooo it was true!!! I always thought my Aunt was exaggerating. She always made a story so much more exciting. Can't wait to tell my family it was true.

Does Clinton have the same type of protection.
