Camille's Hurricane party, part deux, sadly...
Who says Charley don't surf?
Kerry sez - "If I were President, I would know how to handle Charley better. When I was in Vietnam I faced Charley every day in a life and death struggle. My swift boat alone held Charley at bay and bringing me home was President Reagan's worst mistake of the war. I have a secret plan for turning back Charley and if I'm elected...
Aide - "Uh, Senator, "Charley" is a hurricane."
Kerry - "Oooookay... Did I mention my secret mission to infiltrate General Giap's bedroom? I took my swift boat deep into North Vietnam under cover of darkness and, disguised in my lucky straw hat I got from a VC double agent, checked into the Hanoi Hilton....
What are you watching?
I can't get your link to load. By "gonna jump" do you mean cross the FL peninsula and reform in the Atlantic?
sadly is right if this is now a Cat 4.
Anyone listening to the Hurricane Net?
A ham just reported in that a house fire has started, and the closest fire station was evacuated some time ago.
I just tried my brother in Bonita Springs.......there is no answer.
This is so sad.

WBBH/WSVN: Ft. Myers emergency personnel: "If you haven't evacuated yet, please don't. Please stay put. It is too dangerous to go out."
I recently moved from the area ... praying hard for all my friends. : (
Are you listening to HAM radio online??? If so, where can you do that?
Darwin award winners!
From what I remember of several happy trips to Sanibel years ago..the highest spot on the island is about 4 feet.....
Strongest storm to hit SW Florida on record ... yikes!
HurricaneCity.com has been carrying the HAM radio hurricane network intermittantly.
If McGreevey had been in Vietnam, he would have launched a secret mission to infiltrate General Giap.
This could become a 5. The Saratoga EOC said stay put, it's too late to do anything. He said the wind will go from 14 mph to 145 in one hour. They are in trouble there.
At least we in Tampa prepared. They aren't.
Category five is MAJOR structural damage, roofs blown off, large trees over, well built houses destroyed. I would be terrified if I was on Sanibel or Captiva. Those islands might be gone by tomorrow, and I don't know how they can get those people off.
