Fort Meade coming, past Bowling Green now.

Bartow next.

Winter Haven? Or Kissimmee?

Going to pass up across the west side of Orlando?

AHMM:') I guess it depends on who you are getting reports from, huh? The same networks that are saying poor Jeb was supposed to know the path?

Dark, windy, still raining

It's not dark in Florida for another hour or so.

The radio said today that one reason the governor of GA had declared a state of emergency is because after he does that, it's illegal for vendors to raise the prices on essentials.

That's good think on their part. IIRC didn't Jeb declare a state of emergency early on, too? Glad these guys are making it difficult for vendors to take advantage of people during a crisis.

Ah, yes, but the rain cuts sunlight ... 8<)

In a way, it chose perhaps the single least populated area to cut through FL...

Real nasty for anybody on the Hwy 17 path itself, but even the few towns that are in its path are relatively small and relatively far apart.

You are figuring wrong. I have relatives in Sarasota (south of Bradenton) and they are ok.

No, no. Check a map, or use mapquest.com to call up the little town of Bradeton.

The third post of this thread shows the radar picture of the eye, with county lines superimposed on the radar.

Now, compare the two images in two different windows at the same time.

Bradenton is right on the caost, a little south of St Pete.

The eye is about 45 miles east of there, right north of the Polk County line right now coming up on the town of Fort Meade.

They'll get winds, rain, (and maybe a tornado giving localized damage) but the real problems are well inland from that town.

We need to watch Kerry's statements very closely. IF he shows his Puss in FLorida and you KNOW he will TOUR the damaged area (Insert obligatory Photo picking up debris and looking sad) and says how we need to help etc etc blah blah blah (AND HE WILL) then we need to watch for when the vote for Emergency Funds comes up -- HE AND EDWARDS BETTER BE IN DC TO VOTE FOR THE EMERGENCY FUNDING if they show up in Florida and promise it.

Oh my, lol, that's crazy...maybe you and my husband were switched at birth - sounds like your parents should be his. He sleeps through everything! Children crying, phone ringing, wife beating him with pillows, shoving him as hard as she can...

A couple months ago some very severe thunderstorms came through in the middle of the night while half my family was visiting, wind and thunder so strong the house shook and banged like someone was beating it with a giant frying pan. Woke up everyone but him.

No doubt someone drag racing on the lawn wouldn't roust him either. :)

PHEW! I'm saying a prayer for YOU, just because you're such a good person. Seriously! What a relief. Thanks!
