They should have been celebrated. Not slandered.

That's why we must make sure that EVERY GI that comes home from Iraq and Afghanistan is treated to a warm "Welcome Home". Every guy or gal I see in unform get's this greeting from me, "Thank you for serving our country and defending liberty and your fellow citizens. I appreciate your service."

While the people are "over there" you can do things like give to groups that send them "care packages" or items like air conditioners. People can also give money to various groups that support the families of service people. To help their wives and kids.

BTW, I'm not suggesting anyone do things I have not already done myself.
