People May Have Bypassed Airport Security
POSTED: 3:58 pm EDT August 11, 2004 Two terminals at Philadelphia International Airport were evacuated after a security breach Wednesday afternoon. An airport official told NBC 10 that at 2:30 p.m., several people apparently walked through an exit area at a security baggage-screening checkpoint, instead of through an entrance.
Security officials had been searching for two or three people in terminals B and C, and had closed and evacuated those terminals until 4 p.m.
The terminals were then reopened, but long lines formed as all former occupants of those two terminals waited to be screened again. Officials didn't know how many incoming and outgoing flights were affected by the incident.
I'm glad someone caught this and the passengers were rescreened.
But! There's no excuse in this day and age for the security breach to have occurred in the first place.
As always All4-1 thank you for all the stories you find that are unique!
