Authorities believe two men dumped a corpse Wednesday along the ridgeline of Mix Canyon, brutally beat a witness to the brink of death and then sparked two wildfires in their frantic attempt to flee down the winding road in a U-Haul truck.
As a crew of more than 300 firefighters worked Thursday to quell the blazes, rumors and speculation swirled in the bizarre case, which apparently involved everything from a suspected homicide to a hit-and-run accident and the ongoing search for two suspects.
SNIP-
A concerned Mix Canyon resident, on his way home from work, saw the suspects and stopped to investigate. The resident, a Solano County employee, was violently beaten by the suspects, Fuller said. Apparently, the suspects, who were driving a U-Haul truck, sped down the hill on the narrow, twisting Mix Canyon Road, sideswiping a black Honda about two miles from where the road ends at Pleasants Valley Road.
SNIP-
The other suspect, identified as a 6-foot-tall Hispanic male wearing a green polo shirt or FedEx uniform, had fled on foot, prompting sheriff's deputies to sweep the area and warn residents the man still could be in the vicinity, hiding in the gullies or abandoned buildings of Mix Canyon.
Thanks Selene.
That's interesting.
