I just spent the last ten days with the Tejanos in South Texas, and you are absolutely right: ME types look remarkably similar to some Mexicans and people of Mexican heritage. From my limited observations, the Border Patrol was scrutinizing everyone passing through a certain airport near the Tex/Mex border, and in a stretch of about an hour, I saw them detain no less than 11 people. I also note, again, from my limited observations, that all of the Tejano I met are God-fearing, patriotic Amercians who see themselves as the first line of defense against ME invaders from across the border.

Good to hear the border patrol is rounding up people... I think a lot of folks along the border are keeping their eyes open for irregular activities. A friend of the family lives in southern AZ and he says much the same about some of the ranchers in the area.
