The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

IF AP spins any faster, they're gonna black out... He's calling for all 527 groups, not just SBVT. Typical MSM headline.

Besides, O'Neill says that they won't stop even if the Pres did ask them to. Calm, folks, this is an announcement to steal Kerry's thunder.

Agree regarding combination of enemies against the US- assisting AQ.

My question- do you believe that Russia SELIEVES that an AQ hit on us would eventually involve them?

Did you see Velveeta's post at #3717? This just gets weirder and weirder. The article she linked had some very detailed analysis, making it almost sound like a very hi-tech "hit." I find it very disturbing that he shares the same name as the judge in the Richard Reid case. I would say that "mistaken identity" is definitely a possibility.

Oh, and I mistakenly left off this link:

NEIGHBORS THOUGHT YOUNG MIGHT HAVE ATTACKED "MIDNIGHT" July 22, 2004

Neighbors of William G. Young yesterday said they suspected Young had been involved the wounding of Midnight the cat, who had both her eyes shot out with a BB gun in April.

''His kid told other kids (in the neighborhood) his father shot the cat,'' said Marco Piccillo, who lives across the street from Young...

http://www.tennessean.com/local/archives/04/07/54736027.shtml?Element_ID=54736027

...Shortly after Piccillo moved in, he went over to introduce himself to Young. While they chatted briefly, a cat walked over and left a scratch on Young's car. Piccillo recalls Young saying to him: ''Don't worry, we'll take care of the cats.''

When a cat turned up in the neighborhood with its eyes shot out (this) year, Piccillo said, he recalled that conversation. It made him so uneasy, he said, that he refused to let his own son play outside in the cul-de-sac without supervision...

So who knows? A case of mistaken identity or something strange was up with this guy?

Nope, I don't go to the city often... my father works in one of the buildings in the security zone though, but he is not going to NYC next week.

Breaking News from NewsMax.com

Historian: War Controversy Costs Kerry

Author and Vietnam historian B.G. Burkett tells NewsMax in an exclusive interview that Sen. John Kerry is mired in a quagmire worse than the one he complained about in Vietnam.

The controversy may just cost him the presidency, Burkett says.

"Kerry keeps losing points every day this controversy wears on in the media," Burkett told NewsMax shortly before Kerry's campaign filed a legal complaint with the FEC to stop the Swift Boat Veterans' ads.

A sign of desperation?

Burkett is no stranger to such controversy and measures. He has been sued multiple times after exposing phony military records of Vietnam veterans - many of whom never even served in Vietnam. [More below...]

IMAGINE. . .

. . .you're stranded on a desert island where the only foods are cheesecake and fried eggs, and the natives won't let you get any exercise. . .

Dr. Stephen Sinatra is a cardiologist with more than 25 years of experience. If he were on that island and could only take ONE NUTRIENT to maintain his cardiovascular health, keep his energy level up, and remain fit it would definitely be .

Burkett's book "Stolen Valor: How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of Its Heroes and Its History" (Verity Press) was published in 1998 and has become a must-read for those who want to unlock the truth about Vietnam and its aftermath.

In fact, Burkett's book has been credited as being among the first to question John Kerry's war record. Burkett has interviewed and spoken with many of the Swift Boaters who served with Kerry and his commanding officers.

Kerry Responds

As Swift Boat Veterans for Truth keep ramming away at John Kerry's carefully crafted hero image, the beleaguered candidate has finally turned to a media blitz of his own.

In his new TV ad Kerry defends his actions that led to his receiving the Bronze Star.

The ad features Jim Rassmann, one of his loyal dozen "band of brothers," certifying Kerry's bravery under fire as the future senator from Massachusetts and presidential candidate pulled him from the water under withering fire after a couple of mines exploded during a South Vietnam river operation.

Or was it just one mine that exploded? And were there small arms sweeping the area as well, as the after-action reports claimed?

The Swift Boat vets who criticize Kerry say that only one mine exploded under a boat not commanded by Kerry and that there was no accompanying enemy fire.

How did Green Beret Rassmann fall off Kerry's boat only to be rescued from the drink by Kerry? Burkett says witnesses attest that Rassmann fell off Kerry's boat because Kerry engaged the boat in a frantic maneuver to flee from the action around the exploding mine.

Preponderance of Evidence

What will settle the controversy? NewsMax asks the author.

"They [the Swift Boat group] will go away only if Kerry announces he has removed himself from the race," replies a cynical Burkett, who has been studying the growing controversy that has dominated the TV talk shows and radio pundits.

Although Burkett feels that the fog of war may forever keep the actual truth from emerging from the smoke, he does believe that the vet group is moving ahead in establishing its less flattering version of the Kerry exploits by "a preponderance of the evidence."

"These Swift Boats moved in squadrons and formations," explains Burkett. "Sometimes the better vantage point for observing the action was from another boat."

And John O'Neil, co-author of the best seller "Unfit for Command," has interviewed these other observers, disputing the so-called after-action reports filed by Lt. j.g. Kerry.

These reports later provided the basis for Kerry's now much-celebrated Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Heart decorations - all earned in an abbreviated and bigger-than-life four-month stint in Vietnam.

"The people up the chain of command assumed that none of their officers would cheat," opines Burkett.

"It's a back-and-forth catfight" says Burkett, who thinks that the tide may break dramatically to the side of the disaffected vets if one of the loyal Kerry band of brothers turns colors.

How likely is that? asks NewsMax.

"Well, they [Swift Boat Veterans for Truth] keep hoping," says Burkett. But if O'Neill has done his homework, so has Kerry, he explains. "Kerry long ago called all his men together to settle on one version of the action."

Other critics say that Kerry's campaign has already put on the payroll one or more of his "band of brothers."

Veteran Steve Gardner, however, is one of the Kerry crew members who has never gone along with the Kerry program: "I watched him put his crew in jeopardy, his indecisive moves. ..."

So, why was Gardner so singular? asks NewsMax.

"You have to realize that Gardner was an unusual member of the crew," explains the author. "Gardner had a previous tour of duty on Swift Boats. He knew the right way to confront the enemy - not the Kerry way [steering to open water]."

Kerry's Navy More Like McHale's

Burkett goes on to explain that a stalwart, chance-taking Kerry would be contrary to the historic Kerry, who he describes as "always belly-aching and whining about how the admirals had decided to send the Swift Boats up those dangerous jungle-clogged rivers."

According to Burkett, Kerry had volunteered with the notion that his tour was going to be a sort of gentlemanly duty of offshore coast-watching - not close combat with an enemy lurking on the shores.

Burkett has suggested in the past that the way out of the dilemma for Kerry would be for Kerry to open up all his files by executing a blanket SF-180 form, allowing all the press to have independent access to his file.

Burkett, however, says the release of Kerry's full file, which he does not believe has taken place despite Kerry's claims otherwise, will still not stop the Swift Boat Vets who are opposed to Kerry.

"It would have some bearing to the press, but it's not going to deter this group," says Burkett.

"And remember," adds Burkett, "this is not a bunch of Republicans going after Kerry. If Kerry were running as a Republican, the attacks would be just the same."

Burkett himself has criticized President Bush for his National Guard duty during the Vietnam War.

Just how worried is the Kerry camp?

"You bet they are worried," says Burkett. "This election may just turn on those 5 percent undecided out there. The bottom line is simple - the longer the dispute wears on, the more Kerry loses. They're never going to resolve this dispute."

One time Traveller2022 posted a detailed thread with parts 1 & 2 I recall in which he talked about what his thoughts were as far as when the next major attack would be here in the U.S. I will find that entire thread, I hope; I remember he was the first poster to allude to an attack before the election -- and he did this last fall I believe. He never came out and said it explicitly thpough, he made us all guess. Unfortunately -- and yet again -- many old posts were purged from IH entirely and others were purged from their search function. I will see if I can find anything else tonight using different means, but for now here is all that I could find with the search function at IH; the following is the most recent post by Trav talking baout Tuesdays last month and then there are are two more posts from Trav from late 2003 regarding Tuesdays (notice how he contradicts himself):

The reason is not a big deal , its not a must nor something sacred about it , they chose tuesday and/or mornings for there attacks bec :

The first battle took place about 1400 years ago between Muhammad and non muslims arabs happened on a tuesday , that was described as the most critical battle in the historyof Islam .

Why mornings ? : Muslim pray five times aday , the time between a prayer and the other prayer vary , the longest ( room ) between a prayer and the prayer after it is between about 4am to 12.30pm , so comitting attacks during that time is prefered so : The attacker dont risk missing a prayer .

No big deal , huh ?

No wannabe am not drunk , am just having a good time at IH , its just the stupidity level at IH is cheering me up

If something to happen there at ur country most likly it will happen tomorow .
If nothing happened tomrow i think there should be no fear for at least a month .

Why i thought so :
*The threat letter that ur goverment received from AlQaeda contains an immediate threat .
* Tomorow is Tuesday and AlQaeda usualy do its major military strikes on tuesdays .
* Tomorow is the 29/10/1424 , and few news here and there promised a strike before the end of this moon month ( though its not reliable )

It seems to me that, for the longest time, Pakistan has been seeking AQ suspects hiding along the border...almost every day comes another report.

I am wondering how many of the Paki soldiers are choosing to cover up findings- ideological support/bribery/etc. Ie- trap enough AQ to keep US "happy"- but not enough to make a serious dent in the organization...
