Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims.
Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.
THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

Memo to Moveon.org:
In an effort to galvanize the message Kerry wants to deliver in the time remaining, he convened a powerful roster of journalists and columnists in the New York City apartment of Al Franken last Thursday. The gathering could not properly be called a meeting or a luncheon. It was a trial. The journalists served as prosecuting attorneys, jury and judge. The crowd I joined in Frankens living room was comprised of:
Al Franken and his wife Franni;
Rick Hertzberg, senior editor for the New Yorker;
David Remnick, editor for the New Yorker;
Jim Kelly, managing editor for Time Magazine;
Howard Fineman, chief political correspondent for Newsweek;
Jeff Greenfield, senior correspondent and analyst for CNN;
Frank Rich, columnist for the New York Times;
Eric Alterman, author and columnist for MSNBC and the Nation;
Art Spiegelman, Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist/author of Maus;
Richard Cohen, columnist for the Washington Post;
Fred Kaplan, columnist for Slate;
Jacob Weisberg, editor of Slate and author;
Jonathan Alter, senior editor and columnist for Newsweek;
Philip Gourevitch, columnist for the New Yorker;
Calvin Trillin, freelance writer and author;
Edward Jay Epstein, investigative reporter and author;
Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., who needs no introduction.
We sat in a circle around Kerry and grilled him for two long hours. In an age of retail politicians who avoid substance the way vampires avoid sunlight, in an age when the sitting President flounders like a gaffed fish whenever he must speak to reporters without a script, Kerrys decision to open himself to the slings and arrows of this group was bold and impressive. He was fresh from two remarkable speeches one lambasting the PATRIOT Act, another outlining his foreign policy ideals while eviscerating the Bush record and had his game face on. He needed it, because Eric Alterman lit into him immediately on the all-important issue of his vote for the Iraq War Resolution. The prosecution had begun.

Carl on Fox now.
How about "Carl Cameron Confronts Kerry Campaign on Crazy Concocted Cambodia Combat Claim"
How about "Carl Cameron Confronts Kerry Campaign on Crazy Concocted Cambodia Combat Claim Chicanery"
"During Christmas 1968, Kerry was stationed at Coastal Division 13 in Cat Lo. Coastal Division 13s patrol areas extended to Sa Dec, about fifty-five miles from the Cambodian border. Areas closer than fifty-five miles to the Cambodian border in the area of the Mekong River were patrolled by PBRs, a small river patrol craft, and not by Swift Boats. Preventing border crossings was considered so important at the time that an LCU (a large, mechanized landing craft) and several PBRs were stationed to ensure that no one could cross the border. A large sign at the border prohibited entry. Tom Anderson, Commander of River Division 531, who was in charge of the PBRs, confirmed that there were no Swifts anywhere in the area and that they would have been stopped had they appeared.
I agreed with the poster yesterday who said that Kerry is worse than Clinton.
Ha! Good question.
Carl Cameron just said the book will be on the shelves tomorrow!
Seared is a Portuguese-Mozambique word for stroke.
huh?
What a tremendous boost this would give Kerry-Edwards. So telling that he hasn't visited our wounded.
His name was J.C. Carreon. He was a Hosptial Corpsman (HN) and worked for Dr. Letson. He died in 1992.
We may need you. (For historical purposes, of course...)
Query: how many swift boats were involved in the Cambodian incursion?
I believe anytime you are typing your own editorial comments into the body of the thread, you should pause. If the post is original idea of your own, it is a vanity, and label it so. If it really is from some other source that can be linked, by all means link it. If some other source, not linkable, that is not a vanity (in my view), you can omit link and put your comments as the first reply.
I think anyone who gets a chance should pop into their local big box bookstore, if they have one, and see what the retailers do to/with the book.
And he's sure done everything else Bush has done or said.
That's a pretty big IF you're using there. This is just the very beginning of the cracks in kerry's lies becoming evident.
After being first caught in a lie denying the story, the fact that the campaign says that they have to "come up with an explanation" rather than saying that they'll check with the candidate, you know they're in deep doo-doo. And it's just going to get deeper.
No! You're not watching Hardball! I took your pledge! ;-)
