Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims.
Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.
THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

Go Fred Barns! Go Fred Barns!
Actually, yes! He's just as nice as he appears. Really funny!
I met Major Garrett and Wendell at a rally in Winston-Salem...they are really cool!
Keep Creating the Caption, Captain! :o)
Yep, that's the NPR spin on this.
You're kidding, but that was Mara and Juan's argument on the roundtable discussion. Kerry mistakenly thought he was in Cambodia at the time.
Let the Investigation begin!
The book isn't even out yet.
No problem. Thanks for not flaming me for flaming you.
They're Republican bought and paid. The seriousness of the charges don't matter as much as the identity of the messenger. All ye need to know is they're anti-Kerry partisans.
Supposedly, this scene (from 2000) appears in "Outfoxed." For some strange reason, the moveon.org folks think it's a negative:
[CARL CAMERON, Fox News Senior Political Correspondent prepares for an interview with candidate and then-Governor GEORGE W. BUSH.]
CAMERON: My wife has been hanging out with your sister.
BUSH: Yeah. Good. [Laughs]
CAMERON: ...been all over the state campaigning, and Pauline has been constantly with her.
BUSH: Yeah, [?] is a good person.
CAMERON: Oh, she's been terrific! To hear Pauline tell it, when she first started campaigning for you, she was a little bit nervous. But...
BUSH: Hitting her stride?
CAMERON: She doesn't need notes, she's going to crowds, and she's got the whole riff down.
BUSH: She's a good soul.
CAMERON: She's having fun, too.
BUSH: She's a really good soul.
NARRATOR: And in any other news organization, in fact in CNN that very summer, there was a producer whose husband was a lawyer for the Gore team. And this was a producer who would have naturally covered Gore, who was immediately told you're not to have anything to do with campaign coverage, either covering Bush or covering Gore because of the possible conflict of interest or the perception of a conflict at interest. At Fox, they didn't care. The fact that the senior political reporter whose wife was actually campaigning for the Bush campaign at a time when this guy's covering them, that didn't even register. It never would have occured.
CAMERON: All right, you guys ready? All right.
BUSH: [Laughing] That's great.
CAMERON: Here we go governor.
[BUSH laughs]
CAMERON: See? Little things that get disclosed.
BUSH: I like that.
CAMERON: [Serious voice] Thank you for joining us, sir.
BUSH: [Serious voice] Yes, sir. Thanks, Carl, it's good to see you.
CAMERON: Just a few days away from the convention, now...
NARRATOR: ...Through the act of having some sort of basic journalistic integrity that is just missing from that organization.
Did I hear "He might have "thought" he was in Cambodia?
Pure desperation
Wouldn't that be from the movie, "A Pack of Lies - Now"?
This weekend, Fred was only slightly for the Vets during the Beltway Boys. But he figured it was a non-starter. Looks like he might be changing his mind.
Isn't the book supposed to be in stores tomorrow? If so, it'll be interesting to see what the big retailers, especially B&N, do with/to it...
Do the DU'ers ever have fun like this? I never go over there. do they ever have alliterative Fun With Titles, do they ever post pickle recipies on extremely serious, sweaty, white-knuckled threads like the one tracking a maybe-hijacked plane into LA airport with other posters screaming WHAT ARE YOU DOING POSTING PICKLE RECIPIES ON THIS THREAD!!! Or join together on Christmas Eve or send prayers for the wounded and the needy, or say Hi to old friends and ask how the grandkids are? Just wondering.
How about "Carl Cameron Confronts Kerry Campaign on Crazy Concocted Cambodia Combat Claim"
