Kerry Threatens TV Stations Over Swift Boat Ad (Letter Contains "Obvious Lie"; BIG Kerry Stumble!)

I think the net effect will be positive for Bush.

I think it would be wonderful for SKERRY to sue the vets.

My understanding of the law and procedures would be that suing the vets would FORCE OUT OF THE NAVY, ALL THE DOCUMENTATION--WHICH WOULD PROVE THE VETS RIGHT.

I think the threat to sue is hollow noise on goons used to threatening the little people. But even if they follow through--wonderful. It will keep it alive and force the documents out of the Navy which will prove our side.

This is a phony threat. These are not lawyers for John Kerry. They have no authority to threaten any lawsuit on behalf of John Kerry. They could be disciplined for this letter since they are threatening a lawsuit that they have no standing or authority to bring. This is a veiled attempt at extortion. Legally only a lawyer representing John Kerry and not a lawyer from the DNC or the Kerry Edwards campaign could threaten such a lawsuit.

You seem to have bought into the Democrap spin that this ad is to be laid at the feet of GW, or that he has the ability to stop it even if he wanted to.

Why not give some credibility to the idea that these guys are genuinely pissed off that a scumbag - a scumbag known to them - is aspiring to become Commander-in-Chief?

And I, like many others, don't see the promulgation of truth as a "backfire".

This ad will not "backfire" - it will ignite a "brushfire" of grassroots indignation.

Not only that, but there are elements of this letter that are potentillly libelous in their own right, and these lawyers are writing on their own nick. They seem to be highly exposed.

A threatening deceitful letter from two shysters hired by a charlatan narcissist shyster running for President with an ambulance chasing low-life shyster as his Vice Presidential running mate, in a campaign whose largest single group of money men contributors is the white collar criminal sociopath shyster industry.

"Kerry's Strength," as you put it, ISN'T "his strength" once it is demonstrably shown (as these brave vets have risked so very much to do) that it is all premised upon a damnable, contemptible lie. Using your own "logic": if "Kerry's Strength" happened to be a media-complicit claim that he was The Returned Son of God, we couldn't argue against that, either.

Either this country is worth fighting for, or it isn't. A loss in '04 is unthinkable. Help, by all means, if either of those two sentiments stirs anything whatsoever within you... or move off to one side, and try not discouraging the others.
