I'd bet that many of the people who voted for the amendment are all across the political spectrum.

I bet you are right. Many, many people who end up voting for Kerry will pull the switch for banning gay marriage.

Even liberals say leave marriage alone. I'll bet you a nickel support for marriage isn't just a Red State or right wing fad. Six years ago Democratic and LIBERAL Hawaii amended its State Constitution to preserve marriage. The gay lobby keeps pushing people, they'll find themselves losing all over the country. The only way gay marriage can be imposed is through judicial fiat, like MA and WA. And the people move to reverse those decisions when they get the chance.
