Well, if I had it my way the 17th amendment would be repealed and the state legislatures would appoint the senators as the founders intended. Doubt they'd be appointing many carpetbaggers, but I could be wrong. In the meantime, the Dems have lowered the bar again and we'd be fools to allow them exclusive advantage. Keyes is an articulate ultra conservative and would make an excellent senator. I can imagine him debating in the Senate from a constitutionalist point of view. Wouldn't that be nice for a change. We'd be lucky to get him there.

I'd love to see a strong personality like Keyes have a voice in the Senate. I'm not sure that, over time, state legislatures would refrain from appointing similarly-skilled politicians from out of state to hone their craft while wielding power in the US Senate.

Running Keyes against Osama Obama is a fascinating experiment.

After trying to catch up here on this thread i'm glad to see someone in accord.

We are about winning the big picture and pragmatic steps toward that goal.

I regret that many allies here do not share that view but this forum is not a popularity contest is it.

Keyes is a remarkable 19th century style orator with lightspeed synapse. It will be nice to see him counter the vitriol of the African.
