I agree. While I like Keyes, Obama is younger and will appeal to not only the liberal white voters but also the bulk of the black, heavily DEMONrat population. But at least it'll get Keyes out in the public eye.
Why have the election ? Might as well just hand the seat to Obama with your thought process.
You don't think the abortion issue could split that vote? It's not as if Obama can claim to be descended from slaves or anything like that --- how much could he have in common with the blacks that vote for democrats?
Keyes may not win, but it'll be nice to see him carve up Obama in debates and bring him down a notch. There will be a ton of national media spotlight on this race so Keyes may open the eyes of a few blacks in Illinois who previously would dismiss the conservative viewpoint right off the bat.
