It's official! Yahoo!
I've noticed that the GOP usually doesn't send money to the candidate that supports their platform if there is someone who doesn't available. I have not bought their arguments as to why this is, but would you support Keyes as an Illinois state senator, if he has a chance, no matter how small, to beat back the rock star Obama?
I'll see your Hillary tape, and raise you the tape of Dr Keyes dissecting the caller who phoned in to defend Clinton with the 'every man does it' line.
Here's a chip, for your cab fare home.
WRONG...as ever! I HATE Obama with a passion.But unlike you,I don't live in a dream world.
I'm really enjoying the irony of it all!
If Alan Keyes couldn't beat Barbara Mikulski in a state that he actually lived in, I'm not sure how he intends to beat Obama as a carpetbagger.
Dale Carnegie graduate, are you?
I never said I didn't want him to run, either.
Some people are so desperate to cause trouble they will resort to lying to whip it up. It's pathetic.
You shouldn't hold your breath. Frist didn't pack prime-time with pro-choicers so that he could give the media a chance to misrepresent keyes as the second coming of pat Buchanan.
No chance.
More's the pity.
And yes,I'll ask people to vote for Keyes,IF he accepts the crown, but I know that he has NO chance of winning;not a one.
As I said earlier, this puts me in a tough spot. As I said then, perhaps I'll just start sending my contribution checks to the Maryland GOP instead, and mail copies to Topinka.
Maybe not. But you're definitely livin' in Loserville.
Your view of our hopes in Illinois reminds me of that wonderfully funny FedEx commercial:
DOOMED! WE'RE DOOMED!
I know you're smart enough to know how ridiculous that statement is coming from a conservative.
So do I.
It's worth a shot. I'll take a "carpetbagging" Keyes over am undercover 'rat Barthwell.
This is sort of like that sign over the gates, that read "ABANDON HOPE,ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE."
It almost looks like they WANT to be victims of big bad RINO's (which, of course, is all of us......LOL)
Oh come on Howlin. Have you been any better than your adversaries? If you haven't, why are you asking them to be better than you? Isn't that a little, like...I don't know...saying one thing and doing another...the very thing you say Keyes is doing?
Now. Can I have one more dead horse award before I go to bed? This has consumed more of my time than I should have given it.
Howlin, that's getting very old, and very annoying. You're here, aren't you? Now how about, before we get to the blood on the floor stage, and things are said that shouldn't be said, we all just back off on this? For the good of the forum.
First of all, I have to point out that Sinkspur pointing to a 2001 speech by Dr. Keyes as his reason for being such a strong opponent. That's total non-sense, you've been on his back since 2000 and so has Howlin.
Back in 2000, I was probably the most strident Bush critic of all the posters on this board, as one of Dr. Keyes' state coordinators that was called for and appropriate. However, after our party made its choice I endorsed President Bush and wrote articles in favor of him. I wrote on September 11th that on that day we were all Bush supporters. I will vote to re-elect the President and my wife and I have worked on her family living in Ohio, because we know that the 2000 primaries ended in June. It is sad, no, it is pathetic that the same people for the past four years have been systematically attacking a Conservative. I can only hope that your dedication to electing Obama in Illinois and attacking every accomplishment, action, and statement of Dr. Keyes is equal to your passion to re-elect the President.
Second, if you haven't run for office, don't denigrate Keyes for his effort. If he comes to Illinois, it's a favor to the State and the Nation. Just having finished my own campaign for State House, I can tell you that Politics is not glamorous, it's hard and unappreciated work. If you think it's so easy, get off your butt, turn off your computer and run for something and show us how you win. Otherwise, don't malign those who are trying to do the right thing for the country.
