The attention to the Purple Hearts is what's going to kill Kerry.....

If he can't produce records, OR SCARS, then America will hate him for lying about it to GET OUT OF FIGHTING, while our men and women are fighting a war in Iraq...

"This is pay for play, and the dirtiest of all dirty tricks ever played on a candidate for the presidency. How low can they go?... "

I seem to remember a certain presidential candidate issuing a challenge, something about "bring it on."

Kerry brought up the issue of Viet Nam.

IMO, the only way Kerry would be able to show that these allegations are untrue is to release his entire military records. Then we'd get to see what he's hiding. But if he keeps them sealed, the suspicions continue to dog him. I like that scenario.

It was an M79 grenade launcher. We use to call them "Thumper" due to the sound they made.

In a presidential election, voters vote for electors, not for the actual candidate. In the 1960 election, JFK's name wasn't on the Alabama ballot -- the choice was Nixon or unpledged democratic electors. 5 of them voted for Kennedy, but 6 voted for Dixiecrat Sen. Harry Byrd of Virginia.

It would be a weird situation for one of the major candidates to drop out or croak so late in the game, but presumably the electors could vote for a replacement candidate.

According to my best buddy (a retired Navy Chief with 3 tours of Nam under his belt), the two letters (PI...Political Influence) in ones "file” worked wonders when "things had to happen".

It isn't fair, but he said he had seen it many, many times.

As I posted some time ago, John O'Neill and Jug Burkett who wrote "Stolen Valor" were both looking into Kerry's Vietnam backround. I don't think Jug and O'Neill have been working together. If they have been I expect they will really go after Jug because he knows "W" personally. I met Jug in 1999 when he was selling his book "Stolen Valor" all by himself. He is one hell of a guy and likely the best "military forensics" investigator/researcher alive. He knows how to find out the truth about a persons history in the military.

John O'Neill will be a man that they will have a very hard time hurting. I know people that know O'Neill. He is a brilliant man.

O'Neill debated Kerry on Dick Cavette many years ago. Since then he has been asked to come out against Kerry as Kerry sought public office. O'Neill would not but from what I hear he just could not sit still while there was a chance Kerry could be elected president. O'Neill knows what he was getting himself in to by coming out against Kerry. They are going to come after him with all they have. He is very very brave to do what he has done.

All we can do is support men like O'Neill. I did by buying his book. I can't wait to read it.

I predict that like he did so many years ago John O'Neill will call Kerry out. Dare him to debate him again. That would be great to see but I doubt Kerry's handlers will let him get within 100 miles of John O'Neill. And the major media will avoid O'Neill like the plague. He's just too smart and that scares them.

This book and the truth will have no effect because dems are voting against Bush, not for Kerry.

I had heard Mortars....but grenades makes more sense. Keep in mind...he did not have to fire it at a rock that was close up.

a 203 can put it out of extreme damage range.

A piece of shell debris could have landed on the boat...Kerry picks it up...thinks about his need to fill time in a video....

Kerry supporters are comparing the effort by the veterans to the Arkansas State troopers tell-all against Bill Clinton.

The strangly odd thing about those tell-all's is that they were all true! Keep it coming Vets, this guy is a sham and should never enter the front gates of the White House.

Kerry seesm to have been both reckless and cowardly, a weird combination. He may in fact have been comitting an unusually high number of "atrocities" himself, according to the concerns of his superiors. How ironic would that be: this poster-boy for blowing the whistle on Vietnam atrocities might have been one of the prime offenders.

"How low can they go"?...

Ever hear of the NAACP (James Byrd) ad? "It was like my father was murdered all over again, when George Bush voted against the hate crimes bill".

No kidding, I hadn't noticed the signatures on the fitreps. Damning info indeed.

I'm sure the counter will be that (in their eyes) the fitreps were good ones and the CO's were being honest then but they are now attacking Kerry for "partisan political reasons"...

The anti-Bush crowd is not large enough to give Kerry the win. He still needs to win over the swing voters. And while swing voters are fickle, nobody likes a pretender and a wuss.

As you probably know, they weren't good reports. You can't go by what the column headings say, you have to go by how far to the left the column is, and Kerry had numerous ones that were in the middle or to the right, indicating mediocre or bad rating (according to SwiftVets.com).

How low can they go? About as low as Chris Lehane. He was Kerry's campaign manager until last November.
