I don't know the Chicago area that well either. It said "near downtown", close enough. The suitcase shielding from x-rays would suggest a certain weapon. I don't think that type of weapon cares what time of the day it is.
I don't know if AQ has got "them" or not. I'm leaning towards not. That said, if they use conventional weapons, timing would be important and 10 AM would be more logical.
I find the shielding part interesting, wonder if it's true, that would be intense to try and disarm, man! Thanks for pointing it out.
My first thought was white supremacists but now I'm wondering just a dry run or did they have to ditch it. High crime area, not far from where the Sox play, very close! I'm thinking someone was paid to deliver, or who knows how many things may have gone wrong...
