YOU think like that because you want to stay alive. These guys aren't interested in long term survival, only what is necessary to accomplish the mission, which btw, will almost certainly end their life. I'm pretty sure they would have had a SCRAM contingency plan in case something compromising like this were to happen. The nature of that contingency is THE question. Do they bug out and try to E&E (Escape and Evade)? Or do they push the operation ahead? Or do they proceed to a secondary or tertiary target? I guarantee that not all the targets are listed on the same HD or in possession of any one handler, that's basic security.

The 9-11 hijackers had Plan B for DURING the attack -- they had everything planned to the Nth degree... So it makes sense that they would have a Plan B for before the attack.

(The 9-11 hijackers' Plan B for during the attack was, as evidenced by the Flight 93 cockpit tapes, to ditch the plane intentionally if anything went wrong.)
