I just found out today that by a miracle, the only three (myself included) conservative Republican Christian teachers in the school are handling all the American Government and economics classes!

Wow! You're really in a position to change some people's perspective. Hope some of them listen and understand.

Aren't many in that area Cubans though? I've always thought Cuban immigrants were the most likely to become true citizens. Maybe I'm way off.

Cubans used to be all that was here. But for the last ten years since Clinton did the repatriation thing, they have shrunk to a slim minority. IMHO, that single act was the only reason I could be grateful to Clinton! But in the meantime, we have been flooded by latinos (as they prefer to be known) from Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and every South American country especially Columbia. Then there is the huge Haitian population. My school is about 80% Haitian. The rest of the population is spread across 34 other ethnicities. I am the ranking member of the school VFW (Very Few Whites). Still except for the distance I have to travel everyday and the fact that it's killing me in gas, I do love the place. No discipline problems (for ME) and I actually am able to reach some of the kids, many of whom are fairly devout Christians, btw. But that's another story. See my profile.
