Does anyone else have any info/rumor/hearsay/anything to add that you have heard from friends, spouses or other family members in any of your local regions?
Here's something I just posted on the TERROR ALERT RAISED thread:
...
Regarding the stuff I mentioned above, I really don't know very much at all. I sold something to a guy on ebay (some photographic stuff; my hobby is photography). He emailed to say that he'd suddenly been called to Miami on a personal matter for a few days.
I didn't know if I was about to get stiffed, or if the guy was on the level, so I looked into what I could find on him to see what I could see, and in a nutshell, what I could see was that he was a former airline pilot who works for an "aviation major" with a large presence in Miami. They are involved in various "support" roles for "the industry" (and IIRC, for gov't too). I don't want to say much more (not that I know much more) because I don't want to say anything that might help anyone ID the guy. I don't want to violate his privacy. I don't think anything I've posted violates his privacy (I don't think it IDs him or gives enough for anyone to ID him), but I don't want to say anything more about him.
I will repost this on that other thread in response to a post I read that's asking for this type info, and see if anyone knows anything. (Again, not anything to do with this person, but anything to do with sudden "measures" going on in that region.)
I'll ping you to that post too.
Regarding the topic in this thread, I'd add that I'm still kinda stunned by the stuff that was said by way of validating the seriousness of the previous alert -- now, suddenly consigned to the memory hole, as if it had never even happened. I'm talking about stuff like Tom Daschle being visibly shaken by what he'd heard in the classified briefings, and making it crystal clear that the stuff was so serious that even he could not possibly consider that it was politically motivated -- and this was in reply to a direct question specifically asking him if he agreed that it was politically driven.
Now, that was probably the most serious warning/alert since 9/11. And it was certainly presented as such at the time -- and "the time" was at most two weeks ago.
Now, it's just gone, in some Orwellian "who controls the past" style memory sweep!
It's been erased out of the "newsspace".
This is surreal, because when you consider that we're NOW being presented with another "most serious threat since 9/11" incident, you'd think they'd at the very least take the effort to mention the previous alert, which happened DAYS ago. (what was it, ten, twelve, fourteen DAYS ago, give or take?)
Like I said, surreal.
So, what I'm thinking is that when they take the effort to NOT "connect the dots", the one thing that's probably "certain" (as "certain" as these things get) is that "the dots" ARE "connected".
Any time they say "don't look THERE!" my inclination is to "look there". Hey, I'm human. :)
So, IS there a connection between the last alert, which was widely reported to involve a number of tactical nukes IN the USA?
I have nothing to go on but my hunches -- which are shaped by the strange way TPTB are acting, INCLUDING their psychotic "forgetfullness" about the very recent alert preceding this alert -- but, my hunches are screaming yes, there is a connection between the two alerts.
So, there's my two cents.

Thank you for that, Don Joe. At first glance, Kooge seems to have a perfectly fine bio. I will look more closely.
By the way, your home page is interesting. I took the liberty of posting the Hitchens piece below from your page. I missed this article when it appeared but I heard about it much, much later. Very apropros now, right?
The night of the weak knees
Christopher Hitchens
Wednesday December 5, 2001
The Guardian
Four weekends ago, I really did receive two Friday-night telephone calls from well-positioned Washingtonians. "Leave now," they told me. "There's a tactical nuke on the loose, and it's headed for DC." One of these callers was in a position to know, and the other was in a position where he was actually paid to know. Calls were being placed to an immediate circle of friends to which, in theory, I was flattered to belong. Those who were calling were also leaving - while not informing the rest of the citizens. Why, then, did I resolve to stay? It wasn't just British pluck, strong as that naturally is. I thought, first, that it was unlikely that al-Qaida, if it had the bomb, would have conducted a petty dress rehearsal with United Airlines. I thought, second, that the detonation of a "use it or lose it" freelance nuke could not be predicted for any given weekend. And I thought, third, that I would feel a colossal cretin if I fled and then came slithering back on Monday morning (especially if the nuclear holocaust was timed for Monday's rush hour after all). In the end, I did take the family on a pre-arranged trip to Gettysburg, leaving late and returning early.
Officially, nobody now remembers this night of the weak knees. It rated a brief and embarrassed mention in Hugh Sidey's Time column, and that was it. But I shall not forget how some of those in supposed authority decided that the end had come, and made it a point to keep it to themselves and their immediate friends, perhaps to stop the crowding of the roads. That's how it will be on the day of Armageddon, and that's why the citizen should always plan to outlive the state, rather than the other way round.
...
In more ways than one!
From that article:
Officially, nobody now remembers this night of the weak knees.
How quickly the previous alert -- the one we were told was the most serious since 9/11 -- the one that had even Tom Daschle saying that it was SO serious that it couldn't possibly be politically motivated.
That alert was what, a week or two ago? And now, it's as if it had never happened, but the current release is all the rage.
Orwell must be up to 10,000 RPM by now.
Neither do I. Well, I do know some but all are either in white collar crime or they are on the PR end of the alphabets. But that is not who I referred to in my post. There are other officials who come in more handy because they can talk more freely to family...
So now, Davey, we must task you with accosting a LEO on the street. Are you up for it?!
I am watching...and loaded. I no longer go anywhere without my 9mm. Soon to buy a Glock 10mm.
I just read your post from yesterday on the thread you linked. It was brilliantly written and contains within some of the same feeling that I have been having. I think that it would be a very good post to reprint here. I hope you don't mind:

Wrong. That's a fatal mistake to make.
The sub critical components have a half life of 24,000 years.
Also note the subtle use of misdirection, i.e., the "mid-1990s" slipped in, to reframe the timeframe. IIRC, the stuff mentioned last week (or was it the week before?) was of allegedly recent import, presumably maintained up to the point it was walked across the border.
Moving right along, it has occurred to me that this weekend's "sudden" alert-panic is curiously juxtaposed with the LAST alert-panic (the one that allegedly involved the aforementioned tac-nukes).
However, there has to date been ZERO mention of the last alert (in the context of the present alert).
This has moved me to speculate that the elephant under the carpet that no one wants to mention is in fact there, under the carpet.
In other words, I suspect that the "whatever it was" of the last alert (quite possibly a number of tactical nukes) are still "at large", and, they have NOT been intercepted, and it's starting to get down to the "oh-sh** hour", with no hope in sight (other than pathetic feel-good/look-good gestures like they're doing in NYC the past few days).
What made my own blood run cold vis-a-vis this scenario was the Drudge headline yesterday -- since confirmed via multiple sources -- that the "big news" was in fact OLD news.
When they drop what they're doing and go into overdrive in a mad panic to put up the barricades NOW NOW NOW! -- and, the "news" that's motivated the mad dash, is actually OLD "news", then what you're faced with is the MO of a "cover story."
So, if they're actually using some dreadfully OLD "news" as a cover story to rationalize a sudden mad dash to secure a bunch of targets, it smacks of a truly terrifying oh-shi* moment -- the likes of which they DARE not disclose (thus the pathetic cover story dredged up to "explain" why it's necessary).
It's like buying a house, and after you're there a month, you discover that a few years ago, someone toilet-papered your trees on haloween. It's now mid-summer. So, you drop what you're doing, install lights, security cameras, a concertina wire perimeter, concrete barricades, and full time rent-an-army to patrol the border, NOW!
Um, "NOW"?
What's wrong with this picture?
Everything.
Unless...
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.
Damn.
PS: Does anyone know of anything going on in Miami in this same timeframe that would require "heavy" airplane old hands to drop what they're doing, and race out to Miami post haste, leaving lame cover stories of their own?
If the answer is a "loose lips" thing, then don't say it, obviously.

WASHINGTON A key al-Qaida figure who had access to the surveillance data that led authorities to increase the terror alert level was among those arrested in raids in Britain on Tuesday, according to a senior U.S. national security official. He said the arrests were made on information obtained following the arrests of al-Qaida suspects in Pakistan.
The official described the arrest of Eisa al-Hindi, an al-Qaida leader in Britain, as the initial unraveling of a network of al-Qaida members believed to have been actively planning attacks in the United States and elsewhere.
Al-Hindi, according to the official, had access to the detailed surveillance of the five financial institutions in Washington, New Jersey and New York that was stored in the computer of a suspect apprehended earlier in Pakistan. Other al-Qaida operatives outside Britain also had access to the information, the official said.
Al-Hindi was among 13 men, ages 19 to 32, arrested in raids late Tuesday in London, the nearby towns of Watford and Luton, and Blackburn in northwestern England. One man was freed Wednesday without charge. The others were being questioned at a London police station on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, police said, according to the Associated Press.
The arrests in Pakistan that led investigators to al-Hindi began in June with the apprehension by Pakistani paramilitary forces of Mussad Aruchi, an al-Qaida operative. The operation was supervised by the CIA, officials said. Aruchi, described as a nephew of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the architect of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, told interrogators he was sure that al-Qaida would hit New York or Washington pretty soon. He is also a cousin of Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, who was convicted of planning and carrying out an attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.
Interesting... I know the training manuals from AQ told the trainees to be clean shaven at all times to avoid suspicion. It is weird that they would put out such a broad BOLO type statement. There are certainly a lot of clean shaven Arab males out there. It sounds like they are fairly worried though, to warn of something such as this.
A friend of the family in customs keeps reassuring me that large scale attacks will be thwarted. He says he is most concerned about isolated truck bombs, SAMs, and suicide bombers (Israeli style). I'm not sure how 'in the know' he is though. It seems that I have surprised him with a few things we have come across here.
Thanks J, good to hear you have started on the index. Take your time, I am still doing daily roundups and flutters has been doing a wonderful job keeping track of everything. I will be posting this weeks links in a few days.
In the end, we really are on our own.

That is one perspective. All the sweeps and arrests we're seeing *may* be the result of good intel. OTOH - what if we've been following all these folks for months, we know that something big is about to happen but we don't know what or where. Why not start making lots of arrests in the hopes of stopping something. I do hope your scenario - not mine - is the correct one.
Great post Don Joe.
I think all these threats are interconnected in some way, it would be foolish for people not to connect the dots. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to look the other way because it is easier for them to do just that. There has been a steady increase in rhetoric from the enemy and worry within the government basically back to last winter.
This summer has been very telling, the threats continue to stream in. The remarks Daschle gave were on July 9 and are still very valid today.
I strongly believe that the level raising this weekend is somehow related to the threats we have been hearing about all summer. I strongly believe we will see more areas get raised threat levels in the coming days/weeks. The verdict is still out on tactical nukes, but it would be wrong to dismiss the idea fully.

You must be psychic. I think it is panic mode as well. Excellent thinking.
I have now officially unlocked all of the ammo and weapons.
wow, this is an outrage. I can't believe it.
I referred to that Hitchen's information several times on the threads - that is indeed one thing to look for, a tip loop would exist amongst the insiders and their friends and families (and it would be big), if this nuke thing ever materialized. and you'd see some big, unexplained drop in the stock market.
if someone see a story about Tenet vacationing in Montana - let us know.
With that philosophy -- plus all the guns, homicide belts and "costumes" provided to the Palestinian tots, it is easy to see how many Muslim and Arab kids grow up to embrace hatred and become jihadis. It's like a real GI Joe game to them. They have no need for violent video games either. It's so sad.
If we do not stop them all, I expect something in the next few weeks.
