Arsonist strikes again Monday 12:08 PM PDT on Monday, August 2, 2004 The Associated Press KING An investigator from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms takes photos of the wreckage of an under construction apartment building in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. The building was destroyed by arson.

SEATTLE - Four more deliberately set fires were reported early Monday, the latest in a string of weekend arsons that caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage in north Seattle.

Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said small fires were set at two garages and on a piece of furniture on a parking strip. Damage from the garage fires did not appear extensive.

Another small fire was extinguished Monday morning at a paper recycling business, the Salvage Broker, in north Seattle. Damage there was minimal, Fitzpatrick said.

There were seven other fires in north Seattle between Saturday night and early Sunday; at least five of those were arson. They burned at a condominium complex, a cafe, two homes, a garage and a car dealership.

The fires came one week after a fire destroyed an apartment building being built in the Wallingford neighborhood, causing $2.75 million in damage.

Yes but their wisdom is short and their mentality is that of a young adult 18 ish.

So their nonsensical demands are not met and then they lose their faux love disposition and angerly destroy personal property at a felony level.

Sick minds IMO, angry youths with no direction so they join a eco group hey it was a cool class in high school that they paid attention to.

They have some personal issues that they are no doubt supported by some socialist funding just like the drug fueled hippie selling in the 70's now that has worn thin the ones in the shadow using these kids to disrupt our American society now has them doing the enviro whacko crap.

In many ways, you are correct. But, do not underestimate:

1. Their dangerous behavior and potential.

2. Their usefulness to others who can manipulate their juvenile ignorance.

3. Their youthful naivete. I have met some of them, and they are not 19 and they are not stupid... despite the vacuous nature of their inner character and rotted moral composition. (In this city, they may work right next to you.)

The Unibomber has demonstrated the potential of their justifications, and Clancy has recognized the extremity of the danger(Rainbow 6). Even the Soviets tagged them as useful idiots, and today they are proving similarly useful to our Islamofascist enemies by undermining security and infrastructure.

Today they burn buildings and slice SUV tires. Tomnorrow, they might be tossing cinder blocks onto moving cars, and donning a timed C4 corsett into your local Starbucks.

They don't know their Army and they NEVER take credit. That is why they are so effective and evasive.

Atos:

Rainbow 6, AND The Teeth of the Tiger, which I hope you have had a chance to read.

And to oceanperch, it was the "Rajneeshies", the red-clad followers of the Bagwan Shree Rajneesh, that set up camp in Antelope, OR when I was a teenager in Portland. The 100+ bulletproof Rolls-Royces owned by the Bagwan is what I remember the most. They put Salmonella bacteria in salad bar items in several restaurants in The Dalles (which is due north of Antelope, on the Columbia River), sickening several hundred people. Their apparent goal was to AFFECT THE RESULT OF AN ELECTION for County Commissioner. Gee, where have I heard THAT before?

Thanks for the history on the leader and that cult.

Did he ever go to trial or did he flee the country?

The two Middle Eastern (?) beauties he kept by his side did they turn on him or assist him when he was wanted by authorities? I don't remember.

I remember the cults of those days seemed to be affluent yuppie types kinda of like what the Envirowayouttheres are from affluent backgrounds/parents.
