When it comes to the Islamofascists bent on my destruction, I see nothing humorous. You certainly remember the bugs bunny cartoons making fun of WWII era Japanese soldiers, don't you? Or Charlie Chaplain or the three stooges making fun of Hitler? That was very powerful satire, and definitely had its place in the culture.

My husband hated Baseketball but I loved it! I still have my screener copy of that hehe.. Orgazmo was hilarious. I'm gonna have to get both on DVD soon.

It's brilliant satire to people with working minds...It's trash to irrelevant old bed wetters eating apple sauce and wearing sweaters in August....kinda rough on him, eh?... :/

Congratulations! You have won the title of 'young south park punk'. Please see old cracker to get your reward.
Well, I just happened to see that on a page I was reading.
I'll take the "reward". I'm looking at Porsches on ebay motors tonight. One of those will do.....

Actually this movie is going to primarily skewer the liberals. South Park hates liberals...this is the impression I've had too - they've done some really sharp satire of the left, like their "Tolerance Camp", and their takeoff on the kids lost in the rainforest is a classic anti-environmental-wacko work of art ("Fuc* the rainforest!")...difficult to believe they'd flip to the dark side.....

That is a huge stretch. Virtually every trailer that comes down the pike is on Apple's site. I think it has a lot to do with their making Quicktime. But, the Passion was on there, and any other conservative movie you can think of. Not that I can think of another just now.

My husband hated Baseketball but I loved it! I still have my screener copy of that hehe.. Orgazmo was hilarious. I'm gonna have to get both on DVD soon. I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw Baseketball, even while realizing how much it sucked. I haven't seen any of their other shows besides South Park, but I remember trolling over to DU when Thats My Bush was on TV. The ones who didn't know Trey and Matt were Republicans thought it was just the most insanely hilarious show, while the others (who did know) were screaming that it was the most unfunny and offensive tripe on television. Idiots.

...Sky Captain..
Visually, it's in its own world - Kerry Conran, the writer/creator/director was there and showed a number of clips, maybe 3 or 4 trailers worth - it's like the 1930's combined with futuristic technology - maybe you remember the old "Blackhawk" comics; a dash of that - imagine P-38s that convert to submarines - mix in some old "Flash Gordon" and "Buck Rogers" - giant flying robots as in one of those old superman cartoons - Jude Law was there; he said he loved the part (seemed sincere); also said almost all their acting was done against 'blue screen' background, since virtually all the scenes were CG - from the clips they showed, I can believe it -
The thing you couldn't determine is: what's the story like??? they said there were a number of story lines and it was not just a fancy shoot-em-up, but we'll see -
They've totally got my $9 for one show based on the 'Look' - after that, ...

They're not just mocking the French. The word 'mock' doesn't do it justice. The battle scene in Paris between Team America and the Islamofascists, with the idiotic French running around in a panic, is one of the most hysterically funny things I've ever seen in my life.
Genius, sheer frog crushing genius.

Ain't it grand how people can jump to conclusions on a movie they haven't seen, based on the comments by someone else who hasn't seen the movie either?
Yeah, but doesn't that describe most of FR and F911? ;)

Supermarionation "THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!" + Parker and Stone = sweet!
OK twisted as well (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Since the source is unidentified, maybe that's his plan. It's already embarrassing, though. I have already seen people jumping on this in non-partisan movie forums. "See? You can't say anything without this White House trying to stifle it!" A ridiculous criticism, yes, but one that didn't have to be fueled by some anonymous adviser.
