A new film set for release from PARAMOUNT has raised the pop culture threat levels at the White House -- a film which mocks the war on terror and media urgency using puppets, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
"I really do not think terrorism is funny, and I would suggest PARAMOUNT give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe," a senior Bush adviser told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend.
The new fuss film TEAM AMERICA, set for release two weeks before the November presidential election, is entering post-production from with SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone
A deep voice using serious tones opens the film's teaser: "We live in a time of unparalleled danger. Weapons of Mass Destruction are being offered to terrorists all over the world. Global chaos is about to consume every country on Earth. And there is only one hope for humanity."
The senior Bush adviser, who asked not to be named, fumed after seeing the movie's official website and trailer.
"This is just unconscionable. Not funny. And I believe it makes fun of everyone in law enforcement... and in the armed services who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm."
Marionette puppets are used throughout the film to mock terror threats, and media figures who dominate the nation's airwaves.
Perhaps, but they are right of center. I've read they are Republicans, but probably of a libertarian bent. I'm guessing that's why they criticize Michael Moore in the movie.
OK, I confess, I've watched South Park, it's a guilty pleasure.
They have mocked Janet Reno, Barbra Streisand, NAMBLA, the Mormons..............
They're hilarious!
Thank you so much.
It does tend to be rather stupid sometimes. But yes, they do skewer liberals constantly on that show.
Don't forget how they mock the Tree Huggers! The episode where they go to save the RAIN FOREST is classic!
That sounds about right - (chuckle, chuckle)
I just remembered; everyone who got into the hall got a bag of freebies, including a 'Team America' T-shirt - on the back it says 'World Police' -
Also, (new topic) they previewed 'Sky Captain-the World of Tomorrow' - got a nice 'Sky Captain' T-shirt as well - that's looking like another must-see movie..
Oh mother, and the 20th Century Fox preview of 'Alien Vs Predator'..all I can say is: Stand By, folks; there's good stuff coming -
OC homeboy, you need to lighten up. We're an the same side.
I have a few of the WW2 Hitler cartoons on my computer. p2p networks are about the only way to get them now.
I just requested to be on the South Park ping list...
I'm joining the South Park Republicans. Sounds good to me.
Old Cracker defines the "sides" and terms all those who are not in lock step with him as the enemy.
Very lonely and repressed FR dictarian.
...Stone also told "Variety", "What we wanted to do was a send-up of these super important huge action movies that Jerry Bruckheimer makes." Stone concluded by saying, "the subtle joke here is that all actors are puppets. This will probably piss off everyone in town, and might well be our swan song." Although Stone referred to his stars in that quote as puppets, most of the cast will indeed be marionettes (manipulated by strings), rather than actual puppets (which are usually manipulated by someone sticking their hand up... the rear).
Check out the South Park episodes where they skewer Barbara Streisand and Janet Reno.
Actually a lot of there stuff has a conservative message. I think it will make a lot more fun of the libs that the conservatives.
What is your favorite south park episode?
Everyone should stop trying to put people in one box or the other. Most people aren't political junkies that fit neatly into a tight political package.
They mock Michael Moore because he's funny. They mock nearly everyone because ~everyone~ is funny.
You've never seen "Rainforest, Smainforest."
When Will Ferrel did GW on saterday night live i laughed my ass off. I love him, but that does not mean i cant laugh at some of his quirks. Its all just comedy. No big deal
Nonliberal! I didn't know you had it in you! I'm ashamed to say I laughed through Orgazmo three times (my wife didn't get it at all though). "and I-I-I-I'm Choda Boy!"
