The USA today article is filled with spin. First of all, they report Newsweeks poll to counter their own poll, which is unprecedented.
The first line in their article says "John Kerry's ratings have improved on several important issues". What a joke! Then they say that it is the first time since George Mcgovern that a candidate got a negative bounce from their convention. But Mcgovern DID NOT get a negative bounce from his convention. Gallup himself said that Mcgovern got no bounce either way from the 1972 convention. The truth is that this poll is BIG NEWS: John Kerry is the first Presidential candidate EVER to go down in the polls during his convention.
USA today has sunk to new lows in sabotaging their own poll and their own story! After censoring Ann Coulter, USA today is right up there with NYTIMES on the liberal-bias meter
Here's some info on previous convention bounces....
