For eight years, Clinton and Gore have extended our military commitments while depleting our military power. Rarely has so much been demanded of our armed forces, and so little given to them in return. George W. Bush and I are going to change that, too.
I have seen our military at its finest, with the best equipment, the best training, and the best leadership. I'm proud of them.
I have had the responsibility for their well-being. And I can promise them now, help is on the way. Soon, our men and women in uniform will once again have a commander-in-chief they can respect, one who understands their mission and restores their morale.
I remember during one of our recount protests carrying a sign saying, "HELP IS ON THE WAY...BUSH 2000"
I just heard Mr.Newt say this on O'Reilly and it jarred my memory.Dick Cheney DID say this during the 2000(Salvation of America)campaign!I'm onlysorry that they PLAGIERIZE Dick Cheney in the same breath as Karl Marx and Joseph Stalin!!BAD COMPANY TO KEEP(except for Dick Cheney)!!!!!!!!!
More ammo for us. Plagiarizing your opponent's sayings word for word is a very stupid tactic especially when your opponent gets the last say in their August onvention.
This just in...
From Kerry's speech tonight.
"We will add 40,000 active duty troops - not in Iraq, but to strengthen American forces that are now overstretched, overextended, and under pressure. We will
double our special forces to conduct anti-terrorist operations. We will provide our troops with the newest weapons and technology to save their lives - and win the
battle. And we will end the backdoor draft of National Guard and reservists.
To all who serve in our armed forces today, I say, help is on the way. "
I lost count of the number of catch-phrases he stole. Heck, he even stole from Obama.
Rarely has so much been demanded of our armed forces, and so little given to them in return. And here's the Kerry reference to this speech. Funny, though, he attributed it to Bush. Was this a mistake or an ad hoc shaping of something to his purposes regardless of the truth?
George W. Bush and I are going to change that, too.

"George Bush said that our troops lacked the support that they needed four years ago as he was running for president. He said and he promised all across America, `Help is on the way,' " Kerry said in remarks delivered before an array of 17 American flags erected on a stage at George Washington University. "George Bush can't have it both ways. He can't decry the military's readiness in 2000, and then turn around and take credit for its remarkable success in 2001, before he had even passed his first defense budget."But perhaps Kerry's people had just been sloppy, lifting the quote and its attribution from that poor sad-sack of a VP candidate Lieberban:

President Bush's promise to the military that "help is on the way," has never materialized-instead, Lieberman said, the Bush administration has treated service members with "arrogance."Or maybe Kerry and Lieberman are just quoting from and pandering to all the leftist bloggers out there mentioning "help is on the way" and Halliburton in the same breath.
