I didn't like the "religion on his sleeve" comment when Ron Reagan used it, nor when Kerry admitted borrowing it tonight.

It kind of rubs me the wrong way, anyway, since my dad was forced to wear his on his sleeve by Hitler.

Yet Kerry is apparently happy to turn to his religion when it's most convenient, like when he can receive an annulment for a 20-year marriage (with two kids) and leave his severely depressed wife in the dust (and clipped out of his memory, as we see in the film).

Everything in this speech strikes on further reflection as being staged for effect. It seems as though Kerry was trying to grab votes from all parts of the spectrum. It had a diffused quality to it. I bet you no one can recall what Kerry's theme was. If there's something memorable about this man who wants to be President, it didn't stand out tonight.

John Kerry is simply an opportunist. The list of those he has used and those he has betrayed is a long one. That list includes every person who served in Vietnam, the POW's he ignored in order to seal a deal for his cousin to his ex-Wife.

John Kerry has never served anyone but himself, and along the path to where he is today is littered with those he stepped on to get here

"It kind of rubs me the wrong way, anyway, since my dad was forced to wear his on his sleeve by Hitler."

I can see how it would.

These people infuriate me. They denigrate faith. They install barriers to its practice. They ignore the moral underpinnings of faith. Then they embrace it in time for elections.

I could care less is someone is open about their faith or not. Some people are more outgoing than others. Kerry, Ron Reagan, Ronstadt, Alec Baldwin nor anyone else has the right to determine how one may express their faith. They have no right to pass judgement or denigrate this faith because they view it as a threat to their election.

Insults are standard but this goes well beyond Politics or defense of G.W. This is no different than what was pulled when "The Passion of the Christ" was released and they said Christians would drag Jews through the street. It strikes the same hateful tone and is a direct slap at God and practicing believers in this country.

Kerry is in err if he thinks people are going to forget what he said tonight.
