Kerry mentioned the Constitution for a very specific reason. He's setting up to accuse Bush of negative campaigning to seek a constitutional amendment to protect the traditional definition of marriage. Since about 70% of all citizens object to the Massachusettification of the nation, that will be a greatly losing issue for Kerry.

Seeking a constitutional amendment is unconstitutional? I must admit I have a bias against those who see unconstitutionality under ever tree. It is rampant on this very site. LOL.

Democrats believe the homosexual marriage issue is a winner if they attack it from the ammendment angle.

Every single person who I ahve explained to (in person not here on FR) does understand why an amendment is the only viable guaranteed way to protect marriage.

Of course I can add my legal training as help but kerry/backwards are going to lie and say this is still a states rights issue.

Right. But the speech didn't specifically say that (at least what I heard). Instead, Kerry just used some sort of code language that not a lot of people outside the room would understand. He did that his whole speech. It was like a guy who dropping in-jokes.

I know someone who has serious, serious mental problems. He literally thinks that other people remember the exact same thing he remembers. He'll constantly reminisce about stuff you have no idea about. "Remember that time when I was 5 and I pooped in my pants?" "No. I met you when you were 23."

Anyway, Kerry's a lot like that guy, except Kerry's not as likeable. (Big Michael Moore fan, by the way).
