This is something. Bill Richardson reading resolutions to a small group who all seem to be on their cell phones.

In 1966 my Sweet Baby and I moved to Winter Haven Fl.
On highway 19 running down the Gulf Coast side, of Fl. gas was 19 cents a gallon. There was a gas war and it stayed that way for a year or more.
We used to travel back and forth from Fl to AL, going from 19 to 21 cents.
Those were the days............. hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm &;-)

"Bill Richardson reading resolutions to a small group who all seem to be on their cell phones."

Yeah, and when he asked if they approved of this convention, maybe 20 people cheered.

We supplied our OWN oil back then. Mostly for Texas and Oklahoma (my home State). There's still plenty of oil in TX and OK. It's about ready to burst out of the ground.

Here are my notes on everything until 5:30 p.m., when I went on air to discuss Edards' speech last night. The segment is "The Fahrenheit Follies of Falsehood," and I'll do the same for my collegemate's speech tonight (Kerry). LOL.

Called to Order at 4 by Richardson

Invocation -- Rabbi Ronne Friedman ... blessed are you who have come ... 350 years of Jews in America (came from Brazil) ... does a short history of immigration into the US by all groups ... the beauty of diversity (though respecting differences) ... to choose leaders of integrity and moral vision ...

Military Color Guard, this time ...

Ana Cruz ... advocate for affordable housing ... to do the Pledge ... as usual the delegates do not join in

Sgt. Dan Clark, Mass State Police, National Anthem ... nie voice ... as usual, delegates do not join in ... SORTA expected someone to yell, Play Ball!

James Socas, Cong candidate in Va. ... We'll help Kerry / Edwards win in Viginia ... do this not just for them, but for Jefferson, Washington and all the national leaders who came from Virginai ... with the right leadership, Americans will come together again for the common good ... [WHAT ARE these people, Stepford candidates?] ... this year we will take back our country

Mayor Jack Ford of Toledo, Ohio ... we will do everything necessary to win the election, and we will win Ohio ... middle class families are being squeezed ... we have a team that has a plan ... tonight, the man and the hour will meet ...

kWONG kOW cHINESE sCHOOL dRUM eNSEMBLE ...they played the drums, rather well, I thought ... refreshing break from politics

Cong Corrine Brown, Florida ... the lady of the $50,000 Lexus given to her daughter ... her words of protest were striken from the record (in Congress) ... do we go forward with John Kerry or stay in reverse ... give this administration a pink slip ...

Freddy Ferrer, former Bronx Borough President ... "born a poor black child" in Puerto Rico ... this is just as important today as electing John Kennedy in 1960 ... an America where no one puts him (my grandson) in harms way without a good reason ... [DOES this boy live in New York City, and go to school there?] ... under investigation for connections to a $500,000 fraud ...

former Senator Jean Carnahan, Missouri ... a clear vision and a clean start ... Edwards, fighting for the poor and voiceless ... like the patriots of old, we Democrats may look like a ragtag bunch .... [GOT THAT right.] ... we will make America both good and great ... [DOES SHE have a clue that she is misquoting Alexis deTocqueville?]

Mayor of St, Louis, Francis Slay ... here as a Gephardt disciple ... we hired a national turn-around firm to restructure our schools ... every child must have a chance for a good education ... Kerry and Edwards have a good economic plan ... [PRAY TELL, what is it?]

Virginia Fields, Manhattan Borough President, New York ... a vision that speaks to hope and opportunity ... a long and winding road from Birmingham, Alabama, to Manhattan ... "born a poor black child" ... my mother insisted that I get a good education, and that I know right from wrong ... [WHO is the enemy of those two ideas today? Why it is the National 'Edukashun" Assoc., and its subsidiary, the Democrat Party.]

Cong, Bill Pascrell, New Jersey ... Democrats must make our country stronger, safer and more secure ... [A BIT REPETITIOUS?] ... fourth mention of "not building fire houses in Iraq while we are closing them in New York City ... radios for police and firemen ... [GOLLY, IS that what this national election is really about?] ... we will no longer settle, our time has come ... [WHAT A "unifying" comment.]

Cong. Jim Davis , Florida ... "poor black child" ... hungry for a President who restores respect to the White House .... [DOES HE think Bill Clinton is still in theWhite House?] ... when the word of an American President could be taken as true ...

Cong. Steve Israel, New York ... once again we turn to a leader from Massachusetts ... [STARTS with the Minute Men, comes forward, somehow forgets to mention Michael Dukakis. I wonder why?] ... Cong. Stephen Lynch, Mass .... Sen. Jack Reed, Rhode Island ...

winner of Democrat ad campaign .... not left, not right, but forward ... the Democrat Party, America's Party

Cong. John Lewis, Georgia ... he has turned our friends and allies against us ... [QUIT WITH the references to France, already. Just have Chirac come to Boston and tell the Convention he wants John Kerry to be elected. That's the ticket.] ....

Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union, Anna Burger ... the President of this Union has seriously questioned the competence of the Kerry/Edwards ticket ... that's why the Sec.Tres is here instead of the top dog ... Terry Murphy, Local Chapter, Nurse, in Dubuque, Iowa ...

Senator Byron Dorgan, North Dakota ...

Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO Secy-Genl ... 2.7 jobs shipped overseas ... [GUESS he hasn't noticed that Japanese car companies are manufacturing cars HERE?] .... this guy actually has the nerve to talk about the inability of American workers to compete with those overseas, as if the unions didn't have anything to do with it...

Senator Carl Levin, Michigan ... goes back to the "shot heard 'round the world" ... unilaterally declare wars? [IS THIS Senatorial moron talking about Clinton's Bosnian War, which was NOT a declared war? He certainly is not talking about Bush's War on Terror, which was TWICE declared by Congress, once with Levin voting AYE. Putz.]

Cong Ellen Tauscher, Calif ... John Kerry will win the War on Terror and will win the peace that follows ... [WOW, THANKS, I was worried about that before hearing this fine and able Congresswoman speak.]

Senator Barbara Boxer, Calif ... another "most important election in our lives" .... another "born a porr black child" speech ... its up to us, the American people, and nobody else but us .... [WHO ELSE would vote in America? Mexicans? Dead people from Chicago?]

Governor Gary Locke, Washington ... "poor black child" speech ... he is the Governor in a house that is only a mile from the house where his grandfather came as a houseboy and learned English, a century before ...

I'm waiting for some journo to ask Jean if he'd reauthorize EO 12333, the ban on assassination. How about it, Kerry? His answer would tell us a lot about how he'd fight the War on Terror.

Belive it or not, south central NY and north central PA are still loaded with oil. Though not as much as Texas, it's still a significant amount. Due to the same people screaming for an end to dependence on foreign oil, nobody's ALLOWED to drill ANYWHERE anymore. We can't build more refinaries either.
