I am a Viet Nam veteran (River Boats) and was in the Navy for 11 years. Most of that time I spent over seas. I saw all kinds of people in the Navy. Here is my advice for your son:
Tell your son not to concern himself over the nut cases that he runs across in the Navy. Concentrate on completing his Practical Factors (they call them something different now, He'll know what I'm referring to), find friends that are not $hit-heads like those guys, and do the right thing. If he does not get swayed down the wrong path, and keeps his nose clean, he will get promoted MUCH faster than the knuckel-heads that you refer to above. I'm not saying that revenge is something that we want to pursue (but it sure can be sweet).
Thank you for your son's service, and God bless your family.
