Thanks. I'm just wondering if OBL and AQ have a master plan like fly planes into towers in 2001, place nukes in US 2002, attack Saudi Arabia 2004, attack Italy/Europe 2005, etc. essentially take over the world for Allah, OBL will run out of maneuverability eventually, baring any help from CIS.
If suitcases are not near their targets, they need a team of nuclear technicians to come into the US to verify that they still work and make modifications/fixes; all the time that is needed to place the suitcases on the target gives the US more time to squeeze informants, research AQ and OBL, create defenses, etc. Since maneuverability is decreased for AQ, the weapons need to be buried before 911. As time moves on, AQ is being capture (including in the US) and info is being released to our intelligence (hopefully). If this is the final plan which would come to a head in the election of a US president I see a slight problem. If they are currently interested in take over the world for Allah and destroy the "infidels" they are definitely running against time. If this is a long war that takes decades and bombings occur when everything is just right for the bombing teams, then OBL will have problems with his world domination. He can't make a detailed plan into the future since things change almost daily, for instance, did he think of the Spain incidence or did he find an opportunity and tried to exploit it. It may be that the only master plan may just be look for strategic situations then making plans for the next 5 years.

Hey, I'm reading 911 report. This is regarding the bombing of the Cole. OBL was directly involved and was ready for the US to come after him:
"There was no American strike. In February 2001, a source reported that an individual whom he identified as the big instructor (probably a reference to Bin Ladin) complained frequently that the United States had not yet attacked. According to the source, Bin Ladin wanted the United States to attack, and if it did not he would launch something bigger"
This does sound like he does have a master plan in place. This quote is taken from page 191 of the 9/11 Commission Report.
It sure sound like he was trying to insite something from the US. He had to go to the 911 plan to get the US after him.

"they need a team of nuclear technicians to come into the US to verify that they still work and make modifications/fixes.."This has already been verified to have happened, probably via a combo of N. Korea, Iran and Pakistan. They certainly don't lack the funding to buy the expertise needed.
"If they are currently interested in take over the world for Allah and destroy the "infidels" they are definitely running against time."
Maybe, but we know they plan for ultra long range operations. AQ and OBL started the planning for 911 in 1998. They probably had a series of follow-on attacks scheduled (we know they scaled back the hijackings themselves) but that was derailed by the grounding of all aircraft following the WTC/Pentagon strikes.
"He can't make a detailed plan into the future since things change almost daily..."
They are also decentralized now, to a certain degree. This has to be reactionary to the fluid nature of his situation and our responses. I'll bet they are sticking to a master plan (roughly anyway) and still seek "targets of opportunity" like the Spain elections. As soon as that paid off for them, I'll bet the ops on our soil were speeded up to try it again.
