You are correct to a point. Absence of evidence is not alway evidence of absence. However, IMHO, when someone brings in erroneous, unqualified information in support of a thesis like this, I am then concerned with the veracity of that thesis and am less likely to believe it.

What is it, power outages? and at a depth of 10 kilometers? This is confusing.

Here is a reponse that has been posted since I last checked....

"...went to the website for the town of Peterborough, NH and called the number for the town clerk and a young lady told me that all of southwestern NH towns have reported power outages for around 1/3 of the State.
