ATF: Explosives may be missing - Alaska

excerpt: They are bright orange cylinders, about 4 inches long, bearing the name Pentex 16. The fuse looks like clothes line, but it has a black powder core. The cylinders are roughly equivalent in force to a stick of dynamite.

Let's all focus on the main goal: to nail those devil-spawn terrorists and protect our beloved nation.

Amen!

Dutch chemical barge explodes on canal

Sun 25 July, 2004 11:57

BERLIN (Reuters) - A Dutch-registered chemical tanker barge has exploded on a canal in Germany, killing one, believed to be the ship's captain, and injuring six, including his wife and two children, police say.

The blast early on Sunday came after the barge had discharged its load of naphtha in Essen in northwestern Germany, and had moored for the night in the Rhein-Herne canal, a spokesman for Essen police said.

The strength of the blast blew out windows in nearby buildings. It was not known what caused the explosion, he said.

German television showed the barge's tanks reduced to twisted metal but the vessel remained afloat.

Thank you. I doubt anyone will miss the deletions--probably flames, etc. anyway. The info is what I cherish, not the flame wars.

Three cheers for the moderator! I just swept back through the rest of fourteen and feel quite caught up. I've read every single post since Thread One and hated to loose the last few in fourteen. Fox has some lovely pictures of protesters outside the DNC just now. We can keep that in mind the next time anyone feels like going WWF on a thread. It's not a pretty site. Thanks again to the mod for restoring fourteen

Nearly everyone in Europe in on vacation in August. Nobody is "minding the store". Literally.

Interesting. My parents have been in the UK (London and Scotland) for the past 10 days, they are coming home Tuesday. They said London was filled with youngsters this time of year. I had them grab me a few Arabic newspapers while they were in the city. :)

"We are going on the official invitation of our colleagues from the American Senate who represent the Democratic Party and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs," said the Russian senator.

Ahhhhh, so Kerry is already planning to involve the Russians in his political process. Suppose they'll be 100% above-board with him? Have the Democrats completely gone off the deep end here? Isn't Kerry afraid he'll slight China, our huge partner in trade and American technology (some stolen during the Sleezemaster's reign)?

Now a question does anyone know how to store seeds for a garden? How long they would last etc...

I don't know if I've been lucky in the past or what, but I've planted seeds from after-season sales that were 2-3 years old and the plants came up just fine. I would imagine that some of the seeds may have deteriorated and won't sprout, but the corn, zuchinni and cukes in my garden right now are from seed that is at least two years old.

TOUGHKENAMON, Pa. (AP) — A small plane crashed into an airport hangar and burst into flames Sunday, killing all four people aboard, authorities said.

The single-engine propeller plane crashed about 4:15 p.m. at New Garden Airport, about 20 miles southwest of Philadelphia in Chester County, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said.

Peters said the Piper Arrow PA28 had been performing touch-and-go landings, in which a plane touches down on the runway and immediately takes off again.

“When he was departing, he struck the left side of the hangar on the last touch-and-go he attempted,” Peters said.

The National Transportation Safety Board had been called to the scene to investigate.

The pilot and three passengers were believed to be related, but their names had not been released Sunday evening, Peters said.
