The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

I think you are right, Davey. I mean I saw it and I did not wish to post it here because of the source and the person who posted it at IH. But, in retrospect, I was certainly glad I saw it because it probably is better to know just in case. What do you think JP?

I guess no one here should be deprived of it either. Perhaps if we post this kind of stuff we can add a header reminding everyone of the veracity of the source if known.

The one thing that gets me about eom/daleel (I forget which) is that they did post before the holidays about things starting in London, and we know that many of those stopped flights originated from there. That give me a pause... I hope it is not because the gov is so desperate it relies on the same stuff we hear about. Perish the thought.

CIA says it has spies in Al-Qaeda

WASHINGTON -- The CIA has intelligence agents inside Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network -- as it did before the Sept. 11 attacks -- but they are not within the terrorist leader's inner circle, where key information about any future attack would be discussed, a senior intelligence official said Friday.

"They are beyond foot soldiers but not in the inner circle," the official said. The agents -- Afghans, Pakistanis, Uzbeks and others recruited and run by CIA case officers -- "are more senior than the agents (the U.S. had) three years ago who were on the periphery," the official said.

Aided by these agents, electronic intercepts, satellite imagery, and extensive help from foreign intelligence services, the United States over the past two years has captured or killed two-thirds of bin Laden's top aides and broken up plots against U.S. embassies, U.S. and foreign aircraft, and ships and other targets worldwide.

I only listened to the first one and the only word I recognized is Shehada. I heard that alot. I was under the impression that that word was a Palestinian thing. Am I wrong on that? Also, was it me or did those guys look like they were in a Motel 6 or something?
