Just heard on Rush,,,,,a reporter was talking with Bush, and went on and on about Edwards qualities,,,,bla bla,,,,, and then asked Bush what the difference was between Edwards & Cheney. Bush said,,,"Dick Cheney can be President!" ... lots of clapping
I don't know where the interview was,,,maybe someone can get the original transcript! It was great!

Steve.
Q Mr. President --
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, speak up. I'm getting a little --
Q If I could try another Edwards question.
He's being described today as charming, engaging, a nimble campaigner, a populist, and even sexy. How does he stack up against Dick Cheney?
THE PRESIDENT: Dick Cheney can be President.
Next [question].

No and No, unfortunately...Cheney's here to raise money for Jones, because "Porsche" Boxer has got about a Zillion dollar funds advantage.
I think Boxer could be beaten by Jones. He has to run a superior campaign though.
I dunno. You don't waste an asset like Cheney on a pre-ordained outcome. I guess we'll wait and see.
It's quite a drive for some of us who would like to go. Do you think Cheney will actually greet people outside? It sounds like it. Don't hear a word about Jones...what's he up to?

The Vice President is scheduled to appear only INSIDE - at the fundraiser - NOT outside at our rally.
We will be there to show our support, and to counter the "bad guys" who may be there to protest......but we do NOT expect Dick Cheney to actually meet with us.
Although he is certainly WELCOME to join our rally, if he WANTS to. :o)
If I were still in CA, I'd be there.
The Mission Innn is an amazing architectural Landmark, and the site of several visits by American Presidents to be (Richard and Pat Nixon were married there).
VP Cheney is a class act to match the setting.
Here's wishing all the Californians the Best in electing Jones and throwing Boxer out.
This is the last chance for another six years.
Cheney greet people outside? Highly unlikely.
VP Cheney is a class act?
Wow, who else do you consider a class act?
Welcome to FreeRepublic.
Are you involved with the planning?
Not you. Bye!
Ha Ha... that's funny
I'm glad that there's a fundraising appearance scheduled in. Bill Jones' fundraising has been lackluster: he has only $950,000 cash-on-hand to Barbara Boxer's $5.9 million.
We will be there to show our support, and to counter the "bad guys" who may be there to protest...See also, from www.rapja.org:

E-mail: RiversideAction@yahoo.comWHAT: MASSIVE PROTEST
WHEN: Tuesday, July 27, 2004 @ 5:00 P.M.
WHERE: The Mission Inn (3649 Mission Inn Ave, Riverside)
assemble @ corner of Orange & Mission Inn Ave
WHO: People dissatisfied with Cheney's & Jones' political policies.Riverside Area Peace & Justice Action (RAPJA) has called for a "massive rally and protest" of Vice President Dick Cheney's visit to Riverside, CA to attend a fund-raiser for Republican Bill Jones. RAPJA is part of a "Coalition of the Sane" which decries the Bush/Cheney policies of "lies, wars, and corporate ties" that have so damaged the United States. The rally will be held at the corner of Orange and Mission Inn Ave and in front of the Riverside City Library (3581 Mission Inn Ave).
RAPJA is expecting a large and noisy demonstration as people from Santa Barbara to San Diego (according to RPD Detective Frank Patino) plan to attend. "We could easily see over one thousand people - more than attended the October 15th rally for Bush," says RAPJA member Steve Schuh. Groups as diverse as the Democrats of Greater Riverside, Green Party, Latinos Against War, Fellowship Of Reconciliation, Peace and Freedom Party, RAPJA, National Alliance for Human Rights, Women in Black, Code Pink, A.N.S.W.E.R.-LA, and Death Penalty Focus are helping to plan the event.
The rally will feature a number of speakers including: well-known Riverside writer Jean Denny; Steven Sterns, Democrat of Riverside; Riverside poet Phil Courtney; Jeremiah Akin speaking about Bill Jones and electronic voting; and others to be announced. The theme of the speakers will focus on Bill Jones' and Dick Cheney's record on California, U.S., and international issues.
In addition, many of the participating organizations will have tables with literature, campaign materials, buttons, and bumper stickers.
