Can't tell my leg hair alone.
Maybe, but my Dutch cousin-in-law would wave to some Swiss walking alongside the road, then flip them off afterward when he got no reaction. In Switzerland. Also would mock the bicyclists that would be beginning their climb up a rather steep hill, so who knows.
With Germans, it's hard to tell.
Armstrong said it was the Germans who were spitting on him and calling him a "doper". Another American rider said the Germans really scared him.
"Eat my dust, French scum!"
I thought that was a man, seriously. Wow. A female? Yipes...just the kind of "lady" you want to bring home to meet mom.
Amen. Sheryl Crow is nasty.
Perhaps this will convince Lance to dump Sheryl Crow before she attends the DNC parties next week, as scheduled. Why should he support a candidate who worhips the French that spat at him. He should come to the RNC instead.
See #21
True.
I've never seen the crowd being allowed so close to the riders. One little slip and a lot of people could get hurt.
I concur, that is definitely a male flipping Lance off. Seeing as he's likely a Frenchman, I can see how one would have some difficulty ascertaining the gender of this person. The orange clothing probably signifies their solidarity with Gitmo prisoners.
I'm sure they do, they gave theirs up to the Islamofacists long ago.
Honor of France? Surely you jest. That's an oxymoron. Or, perhaps you meant horror?
"Yep, I got 1 stone more than you."
His first win at the Tour de France in 1969 promoted his name to the world's attention. It was the first time he ever rode the Tour de France, something virtually unheard of now. He finished with the maillot jaune as the overall leader of the race, with the green jersey as the points competition winner, and the red polka-dotted jersey as the best climber in the mountain stages of the race, an achievement unique in the history of the sport. If the young riders' white jersey (for best rider in the Tour that is under 25 years of age) had existed at that time, Merckx would have won that as well. He was 24.
Other racers called him the "cannibal" because he refused to ride tactically, preferring to go flat out at all times. During his peak years as a racer, he is said to have cycled over 35,000km a year. While climbing the steep, severe Mont Ventoux in 1970 to a stage win, he rode so strongly and pushed himself so hard that after he finished, oxygen was administered. He won the Tour de France five times.
In 1975, he attempted to win his sixth Tour de France, but became a victim of violence in sports. A Belgian beating the record of 5 wins set by Frenchman Jacques Anquetil did not sit well with non athletic French spectators. He held the yellow jersey for 8 days, which brought his record to 95, but on stage 14 a spectator leapt from the crowd and punched him in the kidneys. He kept racing with a double fracture and took medications. The pain in combination with the medicine caused him to fall during the race and shake the scafolding on the podium. He eventually soon ran out of energy and lost his lead but on the last stage he showed one last sign of defiance by sprinting ahead of the peleton. He would never win the Tour de France again.
This may have already been addressed but they are the Basque (Spain) fan club..............
Excuse me, but did she figure out a way to have kids without his penis getting involved in the process? And not for nothing, but once you have a wife and KIDS, life becomes about a little bit more than just YOUR dreams. Even if you pedal your little bicycle faster than anyone else you know, and though the thought might be galling to the king of all bike riders, your WIFE and KIDS have some stake in the choices the FAMILY makes. And I think his public affection with the skank rock star, less than a year removed from the divorce, with young kids out there is sad. Sorry, but the world doesn't revolve around Lance and his bicycle. If he didn't want the responsibilities of a family, he shouldn't have had one.
