I want to know if they are going to mention the fact that Gore's recommendation to harden cockpit doors was taken down in exchange for campaign donations from the airline industry.

Yes, I take the admonitions for unity as a thinly disguised reproach for Democrat politicization.

Probably good for compost but something to have for future generations.

This is rather ridiculous. Clancy must, however, be pleased as punch.
To think that Clancy, who does get great info, is better able to get the actual $$'s that we spend on intelligence but Congress can't is absolute folly.

This report is very disturbing, coming as it does only two days after the Berger Affair. It obviously was scheduled to divert attention away from why the Panel didn't see all drafts of national security documents. /sarcasm

I was wondering if you were speaking satirically. If so, pretty funny.
To: abner
And, I didn't make my post clear, I don't believe for one second that an author can get those numbers and Congress can't.

Pg 85 ... This prevailing Common Strategy of cooperation and nonconfrontation meant that even a hardened cockpit door would have made little difference in a hijacking. As the chairman of the Security Committee of the Air Line Pilots Association observed when proposals were made in early 2001 to install rein-forced cockpit doors in commercial aircraft,Even if you make a vault out of the door, if they have a noose around my flight attendants neck, Im going to open the door.

Yep. That extra level of desks will just hurt us.
Oh...I just heard on ABC Radio...Ann Compton saying that Bush has made no idication of what type of reforms he will push for in the Intel and Enforcement communities or when he will push for them.
Where has Compton been?! Could she be talking about the reforms that he pushed for and started going as far back as Sept. of 2001?! Has she not heard of the Homeland Security Dept. or the many other directives on intel and such?!
The media sucks. They are our enemy.

What did he say, I missed the beginning of the tirade, and only heard the end. The part where he wants all national security secrets to be public, so that congress can build up the political will to take action.

And today FNC reported that a Muslim man went in the bathroom for a suspiciously long time and authorities onboard broke into the bathroom. The Muslim guy was trying to get into the cockpit by breaking through the wall behind the mirror. He'd taken the mirror off the wall.
There is NO way we can prevent every attack. We need to recognize that. It's why we've gone to the pre-emptive form of defense...get them before they get us.
