Black Sabbath Drummer Bill Ward Responds To Hitler/Bush Comparison (Good Statement!)
Billward.com ^ | 7-20-04 | Bill Ward

BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward has issued a statement distancing himself from the video portrait comparing President Bush to Adolf Hitler that is being used as part of the band's stage act.

SABBATH are opening their Ozzfest 2004 gigs with the song "War Pigs", featuring a video of Bush and Hitler on the same screen, with the caption: "Same s*it different assh*le." Footage of bombs dropping and Hitler marching is also being shown as part of the montage. SABBATH also flash a picture of Bush with a clown nose, along with the caption "The White House Circus."

In a statement posted at BillWard.com, Ward writes: "When BLACK SABBATH open their show with 'War Pigs', it has been brought to my attention that the wide screen portrays President George W. Bush with a clown nose appearing with past war mongers, including Adolf Hitler. I wish to say this video structure does not represent my personal views towards President Bush. This video was made without my prior knowledge or consent."

Thanks Bill! I bet any amount of money the Hitler/Bush stuff was done by none other than Sharon Osbourne. She has been so pro-left wing socialist agenda for so many years she has no clue what the hell she is comparing.

The question is as one of the members of the band can he get the video nixed...one would think so..he should do so.

Sounds like the statement Justin Timberdick put out shortly after the Super Bowl halftime fiasco where he says he had no prior knowledge of what he was going to do and that it was simply a "wardrobe malfunction".

Nice lies!!!

Coincidentially, I was just playing Iron Man a few minutes ago. Way to go, Bill!

I doubt Ozzy knows what goes on around him a good bit of the time anyway. I remember that he supported going to Iraq in the beginning.

Ward wants it both ways. If he truly cared about it, he would refuse to play.

Same here.

Although I'll give Ozzy a break(I only own two of his CD's anyway - one being Sabbath). I just can't take him seriously.

Again, I don't know where the suprise comes from that Ozzy is on the wrong side. He donated $2000 to Hillary for chrissakes!

Lame. He's the band's drummer, and all he can do is come up with a weak statement after the fact? Get the video pulled, Bill!

Heck, it's a badge of honor to be attacked by these nitwits.

I see no downside in being attacked by establishment celebrities.

I thought Ozzy was a Bush supporter? Didn't he attend the Correspondents Dinner & all that stuff as an anti-left-dogma type?

Wow... That's a great statement from Bill.

And he's very much part of the anti-war crowd. I guess this was just too out there for him. Good for Bill Ward!

And looking forward to OZZFEST July 31st!

When did Ozzy get back together with Sabbath?

He can't have.

He's not a U.S. citizen, unless he's been naturalized in recent months.

Besides, there COULD be more than 1 "John Osbourne" in Beverly Hills.

They've done shows together here and there since the late 90's. They've done maybe 4 or 5 Ozzfest tours together as well, this year, and before that in '01 most recently.

Since when do the Rats worry about little details, like whether a donor is actually an American citizen?

I'm befuddled as well. I swear I recall an article where Ozzy praises President Bush in his handling of Iraq, the War on Terror and tax cuts.
