President George W. Bush is a descendant of Edmunde Reade and and Elizabeth Cooke... as is Massachusetts Senator John Kerry. But despite their divergent political backgrounds, the distant cousins boast similar life achievements. Both men graduated from Yale University (within two years of each other) and both are key players in the upcoming 2004 presidential election.
Oh Yeah? Well, that may be so, but MY New England Blueblood Name is cooler than THEIR New England Blueblood names...
Timing is right I think....
You should read his diaries.
Pretty awesome stuff.
Does this make them 2nd Cousins, 11 Times removed, or 11th Cousins, 2 times removed? I always get confused, but you count up for one and across for the other.....I just forget which.
Well the link didn't work but now I have a selection for this afternoon's beer and cigar on the patio.
Hmmm...I am a descendant of Anne Dudley, but I'm not going to tell anyone!
If you go back far enough we are all distant cousins.
No. Kerry's Jewish forebear is his father whose father was named Kohn -- changed the name to Kerry when he immigrated. If you look at the chart you can see that he is not in the line descended from the Reades.
The major difference between J effin' Kerry and George W. Bush is that Kerry did not inherit the "class" genes from his forebears. He inherited only the whiney, self-centered, I-am-more-important-than-anyone-around-me, gigalo genes.
They did this in 2000, and on Al Gore's side, his family tree was an actual TREE!
It's a shame you can't choose your family.
Well, MY Jamestown ancestors had been here 13 years already and were having babies before the New England group lost their way and landed on Plymouth Rock. So, there!
How embarrassing.
Well, my Blueblood name came about because I was adopted when my stepfather married my mother. However, that being said, my ancestors were here for, oh, thousands of years ;0)
Just found a genealogy on the web that shows that my husband (on his Italian side) is related to half the Sicilians in the USA -- seriously. They all came from the same village and they are all related with church baptismal and marriage records going back to the 1500s. I thought my English and Swedish ancestors had kept good records, but the Italians are putting my family to shame -- even those who belong to the DAR.
Very interesting...
Kerry and Bush are related?
That ol' national election bugaboo is reeeally going to put a damper on the family Christmas celebrations this year.
I'm also descended from English and Scots-Irish Southerners. No matter where I may live in the future I'll ALWAYS consider myself a Southerner.
genealogy bump
OK, so where are the tin-foilers?
Bilderbergers?
NWO?
Priurre de Sion?
Knights Templar?
Masons?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Maybe it only works if you have iTunes.
ROTFLMAO!
