Haven't we paid off our debt to these stone age people yet???? I know they helped us during Vietnam war but that was 30 years ago. This is ridiculous.

How long do you suggest we honor a commitment made to allies?

Actually no, we let them hang out to dry for the last 20 years. They live in squalid refugee camps in Thailand. From what I understand, they fought bravely beside us...I'm sure there are many on this BB who could elaborate on that matter.
We don't "owe" many people anything....but it would seem like we do owe these people for helping us out. I'm not against taking in war refugees, which is exactly what these people are.

These people are still being imprisoned and killed and forced from their homes because of their alliance with the United States.

How long should we honor our commitment to Israel dennis? Let's throw them away too.

A debt of honor must be repaid. If we do not keep our promises, who will help us the next time? In the long run, the Hmong will be an asset for the nation. There are people 'round the world who hate us and our culture; if we take in a few thousand more who love us and aspire to become one of us, how could it hurt?
