CIA: 9/11 Plotters Transited Iran, Govt Tie Unseen
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - About eight of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers passed through Iran before attacking the United States, but there is no sign of official Iranian complicity, the CIA (news - web sites)'s acting director said on Sunday.

I found that on my atlas there's a pretty decent NYC inset map.
For the 38th St/2nd Ave area, it's within a few blocks of the Ford Foundation which seems to be at 42nd and 2nd.
Or another possibility for this one, and closer to 38th St., are some major streets that run into the Queens/Midtown Tunnel, which would make some sense.
For the 28th and 2nd Ave. site, it's pretty close, within a block it looks like, of Mt. Sinai NYU Health Center, and Bellevue Hospital.
My map doesn't show anything specific at the other 3 areas you didn't identify.

Atlanta police say Robert W. Buzzell, 31, had walked out an exit door that had an alarm at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Flights were not affected by the incident, which took place before 6 a.m., airport officials said.
The man was stopped by mechanics who asked him for an employee identification card. When he could not provide one, they escorted him to an office and called police.
Authorities said the man appeared mentally unstable.
Buzzell, who had a ticket for a Delta flight, was jailed on charges of unlawful interference with security, theft by taking and reckless conduct.
Police said Buzzell, of Warner Robins, Ga., told Delta employees that an alarm sounded when he opened the door to the tarmac, but that no security personnel were around.
Airport officials said they are working with police and the airline to determine if security changes need to be made.
On my map, it shows the Javits directly by main routes leading to the Lincoln Tunnel, so yes, that spot would be a real mess.
And then if the Queens/Midtown Tunnel just across town is also targeted, well, people will be prevented from even leaving.

I found this part particularly frightening......
A second pilot said that, on one of his recent flights, an air marshal forced his way into the lavatory at the front of his plane after a man of Middle Eastern descent locked himself in for a long period.
The marshal found the mirror had been removed and the man was attempting to break through the wall. The cockpit was on the other side.
