Our network at work was infected yesterda. Also, my 9-year-old daughter was in her pool yesterday afternoon when she claimed a plane came by the house very low and it was big and had a black disk on the bottom. The kid was hysterical and ran out of the pool, my mom was watching her and my daughter was crying that the plane was going to drop bombs. Well needless to say I have created a neurotic child. I did explain to her that the plane would not drop bombs but it would probably crash itself into something. She was relieved. My mother blames me for her reaction. I blame my mother for my neurotic self! What the heck kind of plane has a black disk on the bottom?

LINKFederal Investigators Looking into Explosion in Donelson

The explosion happened in a parking lot behind the Gaylord Opryland Resort
A man standing in front of an S-U-V was killed when the vehicle burst into flames. The person who died has not been identified.
Authorities believe the explosion may have been the result of a homemade bomb.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have been called in as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Nashville F-B-I agent Doug Riggin says there is no reason to suspect terrorism.
The parking lot is used mostly for staging and overflow parking during the holiday season.

Web Editor: Sean Rowe
Reported By: Elaine Reyes
Last Modified: 7/21/2004 9:32:15 AM
A pipe bomb explosion Tuesday morning shook a Gwinnett County subdivision, and now a second is being sought.
Neighbors in the Abingdon subdivision heard the bomb explode about 7 a.m., but thought it might loud noise from a nearby construction site. A call to police led Gwinnett fire and police to discover the ruptured pipe bomb leaning up against a street curb.
Gwinnett Fire spokesman David Dusek says the blast did not injure anyone or cause any property damage in the Sugrahill community. One resident told 11Alives Elaine Reyes she heard the explosion from about a block away.
Gwinnett authorities are being assisted by agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in the ongoing investigation. No one reported having witnessed the explosion.
People living in the affected area have not been evacuated, but are being advised to remain inside while authorities search for a possible second pipe bomb.
More details as they become available.

While people should not "live in fear", they should make realistic preparations, anti-terrorism minister Hazel Blears told the Daily Telegraph. Her advice came a day after the biggest anti-terrorism exercise Britain has ever seen was branded a failure after it took three hours to begin decontaminating people supposedly affected by toxic gas. Rescue workers were on the scene within 15 minutes of the hypothetical gas attack on the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, Britain's second-largest city. However the first of 400 volunteer casualties went through decontamination only three hours later. According to some reports, restorative cups of tea and cream cakes got through to the volunteers well before the emergency assistance. This sounds so British. All heck is breaking loose, but if you have a cup of tea, somehow, it's not so bad. ;)

Voters in Hamtramck [Michigan] fail to quell Muslim prayer call Voters in Hamtramck fail to quell Muslim prayer call
HAMTRAMCK -- Voters on Tuesday narrowly upheld a law allowing the city's Islamic mosques to have amplified calls to prayer, 1,462 to 1,200.
I feel wonderful, said Abdul Motlib, president of the Al-Islah Islamic Center. Now we truly have approval from the residents of the city. We can feel proud of Hamtramck.

"In the special election, about 29 percent of the city's 9,179 registered voters..."
I see there were over 9000 residents of the town who could have voted, but only about 2600 of them did. How unfortunate.
