Are you saying the Whoopi has conflicted her interest in promoting SlimFast?

Speaking of Whoopi, I was talking about this with hubby yesterday or the day before. Last night, we had our tv on while we were preparing dinner, and one of our children tuned the tv to CMT which we had yanked a year ago when the Dixie Chicks were still being played. (we actually cancelled all the cable channels except the $10.00 package because we wanted NO Viacom channels. we excused CBS because no one in our house watches it anyway.) We only have the full digital cable package currently because our cable company gave it to us for FREE for three months. Anywho, Keith Urban was doing a concert performance, so I let the tv channel stay where it was. As soon as the concert was over, and commercials came on, who graced our screen???????? Whoopi and SlimFast. I told hubby that I would join the FR emailers and let them know what I think of 'em this morning. I intend to write CMT, too. Not that they care.

"Woohoo!! Now if we could destroy the Democrats that way."

That is EXACTLY how you destroy the Democrats. Like the cold war, we need to starve them of their most valueable resource and that is money.

Boycott everything. Search for every donor list and write a letter telling them you will no longer purchase their products. Best place to start is Newspapers and Movie houses. Information is the Lefts most important weapon.

Great Job!

Maybe her contract just expired?!

Slime Fast can come out with a new product, Slum Fast, for foul mouth Kerrorists, like Whoopie!

I would think that the President of Slimfast would also be required to adhere to the conflict of interest claus.

According to yesterday's NY Post, Slimfast Company President F. Daniel Abraham is a major Democratic donor who, with his wife, has given $1.2 million to groups working to defeat Bush.

Rut Roh!

"When will Hollyweird learn that freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences??":

When every vile mouth Follywood Kerrorist loses their sweet sponsorship like Whoopie, Glover, Maher and _______?

That Billion + $ loss in one day should alert boards around the world that we will tolerate them financing vile mouth Kerrorists who attack our president!

Hate to rain on your parade, but....This drop is based on 1st qtr sales drop, not the sudden Whoopi controversy

So...a news item from April caused yesterday's $1.2b drop?

Kudos to Sandlady.

Kudos to Jim Robinson for providing the tool that whapped the ugly Follywood Troll, Whoopi!

This is another reason why all who use Free Republic should be donors and if possible a monthly donor.

I just received a call from Slimfast

I just received a phone call from a Slimfast rep. She said Unilever is referring all correspondence about Whoopi/Slimfast to them and they are then forwarding everything to the marketing dept. The marketing dept is deciding what to do but she wanted to let me know that they weren't ignoring my concerns. She added that she was appalled by Whoopi's "comedy" as well. While I thought they would eventually respond with a form letter and some coupons, I am stunned that they responded so quickly and it sounds like they're serious. I'm hopeful.

Lipton Tea and Unilever need the same 2 X 4 banged against their head. Thanks for posting this.

For those who might have forgotten, Lipton Tea (another of Unilever's products) continued to sponsor the Dixie Chicks' concert tour after the Chicks made their infamously disparaging remarks about President Bush in the spring of 2003. In fact Lipton parodied the public backlash in a commercial featuring the Chicks:
In the fall of 2003 the Dixie Chicks starred in a broadcast TV commercial for Lipton Ice Tea which made a tongue-in-cheek reference to the corporate blacklisting and the grassroots backlash: in the tea spot, the Chicks are about to give a stadium concert when the electricity suddenly goes out - but they manage to electrify the stadium all by themselves, belting out a rousing "a capella" version of "Set Me Free" to the raving cheers of the fans.

Seems like Unilever likes to hire big-mouthed Leftists to represent their company. I say, let's keep up the boycott of Unilever and keep their stock falling!

Yeah, I hate giving up Best Foods, but........oh well. If my NOT using Best Foods can HURT the big Whoop, then it's WELL worth it.

On a side note, my Dad was a close friend of Ray Hellman, heir to Hellman's, and I've met the man several times. Knowing his personality, he would not be happy about the association with Goldberg.

I am the grocery shopper in my family. As I walk down the isles I will no longer buy any of their products. Just estimating that's a couple of hundred dollars a year that will go to another company.

Don't forget that the CEO of this company gave $1.2 million to the 'rats this year. Let's pray and hope he takes a $10 million or more hit on his bonus this year. Sweet Revenge...

From the Conflict of Interest section referred to in post #114:

"Unilever neither supports political parties nor contributes to the funds of groups whose activities are calculated to promote party interests."

Why then is the President of Slimfast allowed to donate over 1.2 million to the democratic party?????

Maybe a few phone calls about that are in order.
