GOPERS WANT WHOOPI'S 'FAST' EXIT (FreeRepublic mentioned)
New York Post ^ | 7/13/04 | DEBORAH ORIN

July 13, 2004 -- WASHINGTON — Some Republican activists are launching a boycott of SlimFast diet products to protest SlimFast spokeswoman Whoopi Goldberg's X-rated rant against President Bush at a New York fund-raiser for Democrat John Kerry last week.

Chat pages on pro-Bush Web sites like FreeRepublic.com are posting links for complaints to SlimFast or parent company Unilever, along with reports from angry consumers about what they wrote in their complaints.

The owner is the Sumner Redstone of the diet scheme industry. Counterpunch has an article on how this guy funneled cash to Gephardt and Kerry to run those Hitler ads against Dean.

Nice folks, eh?

More importantly, don't visit their new casino - the largest public works in Canada.

In fact I haven't bought anything endorsed by people like Whoopi or George Clooney or Ted Danson or Alec Baldwin or any of that bunch recently. Their endorsements just make the products unappealing to me because they seem so mean spirited.

They are mean spirited. They're leftists.

"Last I checked, we are a pro-CONSERVATIVE site."

Well, that's what FReep is supposed to be, but dare to criticize Bush, or point out how he often deviates from conservatism, and you'd better have your Nomex CVC (anti-flame) suit on. Point out how the Pubbies are no longer the conservative party, but are the less liberal party, and the Pubbie Kool-Aid drinkers start piling on. For those of us who love a good fight, verbal or otherwise, it's no problem. But I have to imagine the Pubbie thugs here intimidate many conservatives into silence.

But I'm with you, Randall...I'm damn proud to be a conservative.

"I prefer Marie's dressings."

Ken's Steakhouse line of dressings are great, if they have 'em in your area. The 1000 Island is the best I've ever tasted.

And incidentally, I'd join in the Whoopi boycott, too, but I've never really patronized anything...movie, TV show, product...that she was connected to. Star Trek Next Generation always did suck, so I guess it was only natural that it would add that ol' Hedgehog Goldberg to the cast.

well, the Whoopie flap actually DID help us in some ways - before now, I didn't know THIS:

'Company president F. Daniel Abraham is a major Democratic donor who, with his wife, has given $1.2 million to groups working to defeat Bush. '

and so I will be looking even more closely at the products I buy...

She's been on my Wacko Movie Actors List for a long time!!!

Hollywood will not finance a movie if they smell a box office loser. Boycotting wackos directly hits them in the bank, an I can't think of a better place to let them know their popularity is directly related to their politics.

I've added Clint Eastwood to the list for kissing up to Spielberg. Dreamworks has hired him to do a WWII Iwo Jima movie. I expect they'll use the same anti-America crowd - Alex Baldwin, Senn Penn, Tim Robbins - absent any real American character traits.

If you've got a need to watch an Iwo film Rent the real McCoy.......

Sands of Iwo Jima ( 1949 )

The film uses a combination of actual war footage and new footage (all in B & W) and was shot at Camp Pendleton.

Below is a ( rather poor ) picture of John Wayne being memorialized at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Wayne's plaque is black. Black cement made from the black sands of Iwo Jima.

In fact, her production company is called "One Ho" productions. No lie. It is/was producing the new Hollywood Squares game show.
