People, what this means is his internal polling says there are more Conservative likely voters than liberal. He can't win without something other than his base and his base will tolerate anything at all from him.

If we are to win, we have to do the same. Bush will have to compete in the middle. If we make 3rd party noises, Kerry will take the middle and we'll have the most liberal senator in the Congress as president.

So all you guys (about 8% as polls have it) who are GOP and not supporting Bush because he's not conservative enough -- make your choice. Kerry's move to the middle and right has what value of credibility? Right, zero. You will have 5 additional staunchly pro Choice Justices replacing the retirees if Kerry is elected. With Bush, far fewer.

Make your choice. Your Constitution Party candidate will decide no, repeat, no judges. With Bush you'll get more judges who are more preferable than with Kerry.

Make your choice. Don't condemn your neighbors to life under liberals.

We heard this "It's the judges, stupid" mantra in 2000.

I've yet to see any staunchly conservative jurist placed on high courts, let alone a Supreme.

I don't think anyone who was paying attention since 2000 is going to buy your line of reasoning. Although some of these justices are pretty old, they might hang on for a very long time. Stevens is, what, 127 years old or something? He's not planning to retire.

Even granting your premise that Bush will nominate conservative and pro-life judges, there's still the problem of a gutless/RINO GOP Senate majority that lets the Dims shoot down any judge they don't happen to like. Not a promising record so far.

As far as the supposed 8% of disaffected GOP voters, it might be exaggerated. I'd say that, if true, it has more to do with the long-term garrison of Iraq (never popular in America) and with traditional conservative issues like smaller government and less regulation. Since Bush is president, they're taking it out on him but the real blame is with your Congressrino, not Bush.

President Bush is MORE conservative than John F*ckin.' Unfortunately the purists will vote to put a Hard Leftist in the White House cause the President doesn't meet their pristine expectations of what a conservative ought to do. We live in a country where at most, we can get 80% of what we want and some people aren't happy cause they didn't get the rest of the loaf. The culture is pushing Left. We have to get more than Democrats do in power cause they don't need to get as much done. They have already enlisted every one else under their banner. And some conservatives want to see Bush go down cause he's made some mistakes. Should John F*ckin' win in November, these folks will bitch over the next four years the fellow in the White House is a disaster and they'll never admit to their role in bringing him there. Take time to ponder that before you say the President isn't your ideal conservative being our President.
