You are right! Maybe someone (Abu Nidal bunch?) in the ME has written an opus on all the hijackings from the 60's and 70's that is a core teaching tool? Which group did most of those early hijackings?

I think a lot of those groups like Abu Nidal and Black September have been attrited into being non-operational, but it wouldn't surprise me if some of their folks are in a teaching capacity to our current crop of problems. Those golden oldies were almost exclusively funded from the USSR IIRC.
