GUANTANAMO Bay detainees have reportedly given up intelligence that helped foil attacks planned for the Athens Olympics and possibly a dozen attacks elsewhere.
The information was gathered recently from prisoners at the US base in Cuba, according to the Chicago Tribune newspaper, one of several US media outlets given access to the US navy base there last week.
The paper did not elaborate on US military claims during an on-site "intelligence briefing", but noted that they were impossible to verify independently.
The Tribune reporter and television reporter from CNN were given special access to Camp Delta, where about 600 "enemy combatants" have been held without access to legal representation for months, and in some cases, years.

Someone on TM posted this rumor from a high level BBC secretary and there was speculation the royals were out at sea. We never did conclude what the actual rumor was that caused national security concerns in GB. This might have been in May or June.
