Jack Ryan with Sean Hannity

Posted on 07/07/2004 6:56:42 PM PDT by lizmac

I just watched Hannity interview Jack Ryan, former Republican candidate for the Senate from Illinois. Sean made some amazing challenges at the end of the interview.

Please. If people saw the things my husband and I say to each other in private it wouldn't be too pretty either. Opening up this guy's divorce records was criminal. The judge should be disbarred. I feel bad for him. And please don't give me this crap about the sex thing. You have no idea how he said it and it sounds like Jeri used it against him during the divorce. The fact is that it didn't happen. They never had sex in public. So what, they talked about it. So he talks about a fantasy to his wife and he's a pervert. Give me a break.

You CANNOT listen to that exchange about how "private must remain private" and not hear the silliness of anti-Clinton ness. I was the biggest anti-Clinton "cannot lie to a grand jury" which is clearly different in this case, but still, the guy is tainted and.....oh crap....this is FR. Never mind. Please flame me now.

I thought he was weak sounding as well, but he had the makings of a good senator, IMHO.

I have to agree with Hannity on this one. (Who, BTW, also said that IF Ryan did the things his wife alleged, that was weird and that he didn't approve, so Sean was not being inconsistent on his views) For this guy to roll over when his privacy was obviously violated by a media outlet and judge with an agenda is only going to make them do it again. They will see that this is all they have to do to make a candidate they don't like (IE: Republican) drop out.

As for what was alleged in the court papers, he denied ever doing what she said he did. He still denied it today. She obviously didn't want this to get out either. There is a small child involved here who can only be hurt by having his dad's name dragged through the mud, which didn't seem to matter to the rag or the judge. This was a partisan attack on a guy who was seen as a threat to the democrat establishment. Plain and simple.

Besides, since the divorce was before his senate run, what did it have to do with his ability to be a good senator? I mean, aren't he and HIS WIFE free to do what they want in their sex life WHILE THEY WERE MARRIED? OK, so as long as it is within the law, which, last time I checked, going to a strip club was. Now, this was supposedly to have taken place in Europe, so I don't know if sex in a strip club is legal or not, but knowing those freaks, it probably is.

BTW - He still denies ever asking her to do this. Let's not be so quick to judge him based on what his wife says during a custody hearing. Lord knows those can get pretty dirty. Are we just to take her word for it? Wouldn't THAT be inconsistent with the positions many here have taken on other cases where a divorce and custody battle resulted in name calling and allegations of misconduct?

I do have a problem with the judge who unsealed the records and the press for parading their private records, however if a man can not show self-control or good judgement in public, he might not be the man for the job. I know we all make mistakes, I would hate to be judged on mine. But when I make an error I admit it, Ryan glossed over it and came out Clintonesque. Of course, I didn't hear the interview tonight, so I admit I do not have adequate knowledge on what he said.

Is there any man out there who would want to have sex with Jerri Ryan in public?

If you believe the liberal media anything is possible.

I find it kinda odd....that a few months ago I was listening to Hannity's radio show and he basically agreed with a caller that said men that go to strip clubs were perverts....apparently if you are an electable republican we overlook that. hmmmmmm!

Man, I guess I know a LOT of perverts. And apparently am one.

Men that typically go to strip clubs are perverts.

Your definition of "pervert" must be completely different than mine. A pervert is a child molester or a peeping Tom or a raincoat flasher --- NOT someone who has ever been in a strip club.

First off, I believe most males (and many females) have experienced a strip club early in their life, when 25 yrs or younger, at the very least just to see what it is.

Most young people have raging horomones and are not always interested in putting on a display of morality for their friends.

Certainly when someone gets married, most revert back to morality (not all certainly) and they stop going into strip clubs.

Bottom line: perverts are people who prey on the helpless, the young, the innocent, the children.

NOT someone who has ever gone into a strip club.

Sean agrees, “Rush is the Babe Ruth of radio.” If Rush is the Babe Ruth, Sean is Lou Gherig. Or better yet, Roger Hornsby. A powerhouse conservative adding the one, two punch in a knockout blow to liberalism. Like Roger Hornsby, he is here for the duration. Already winning his first Marconi award, he is primed to take America by storm. He has become my second favorite radio talk show host, with a lineup including Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, and Mark Levin.
There’s something special about Sean Hannity. What is it? Why does he connect so well with conservatives? He has personally renewed my faith in some television journalists. Prior to Hannity and Colmes, I had no interest in the television news media. Hannity’s quick wit and sharp tongue, produce a “Don’t come on my show and lie to me attitude.” Much like Rush, he seeks the truth, annihilating liberalism with every word. He brings justice in a city known as “The Liberal Mecca.” Is it his good looks, his research, or his easygoing style with his callers? It’s more than that.

He identifies with the general public. He relates well to everyday people because he is one. His successes were determined through hard work, perseverance, and risk taking. He has worked his way from Long Island to Atlanta and back to New York with little help. He has been and continues to be an inspiration to “working people” everywhere. Much like Rush, he shares some of his personal life, making him all the more real to his listeners. These are intimate moments; little glimpses into his life ordinary liberals don’t share. His traditional values and solid faith in God has landed him a syndicated talk radio program. His hard work is what identifies him most in the eyes of Americans.

Sean Hannity started working when he was eight. He had a paper route with papers such as the New York Post and Newsday. At twelve, he began scrubbing pots in a restaurant, attacking grease as he now attacks liberalism. Maybe that’s where the work ethic all started, in a house on Long Island. A family that believed if you didn’t work, you didn’t come begging for money. Sean tells it best, saying, “In my family, you were expected to participate.” An everyday job was something that gained him respect. It is stamina, discipline, and devotion to his trade, keeping on top of the conservative community, second only to Rush Limbaugh. Those qualities and work ethic connects him to conservatives. Add in a touch of “local boy done well” and the sky’s the limit.

For example, I can remember specifically listening to Sean’s show when his wife, Jill, came on. She had recently bought another wedding ring, her third upgrade, much to Sean’s chagrin. He sniffed her motive out within five minutes of her studio appearance-a truth seeking ability making mothers jealous everywhere. He extracted the truth as if he were the Spanish Inquisition, yanking it from her with ease. It seems as if Jill had come to see Sean for two reasons. One, she missed him. Two, she wanted to comfort him while bringing him the bad news. She spent a lot of money on the upgraded ring.

“On a scale of one to ten,” Sean said. “What would you say the damage is?”

“I’d say it’s a ten. A big ten,” Jill replied.

Of course, like any man, he reacted as if the world has ended, laughing. That was the most endearing part of the show. But even more intriguing was when he discussed the fact he never wore a wedding ring, ending it with his wife explaining why she didn’t mind.

By bringing his personal life to the front, he endears himself to millions of listeners, each identifying something special about Sean. Similarly to Rush, he continues to build a rapport with the United States of America. He is listened to in over 400 radio stations. His radio and television shows reach more viewers than ever before. He is one of the hottest commodities in radio. He continues his crusade in the advancement of conservative principles, striking fear through the hearts of liberals, and uniting conservatives for three hours a day and one hour each night.

Sean Hannity will continue to grow. His clean-cut, nice guy persona will gather in his flock. His hard hitting, quick wit, and sharp tongue will execute liberal lies as if cutting butter with a hot knife. I can only respect and admire a man that has experienced the levels of success he has, considering he once had to borrow money from his father to rent an apartment.

Sean Hannity has come up the hard way, through arduous work, perseverance, and conservative truth. It’s not hard to tell why Sean connects with me. It’s his Catholic faith, his level of success through risk taking, and his love of America and its people. That’s more than enough for me. The question is done Sean Hannity connect with you?

I was a young welder (that didn't last long) in the Canadian Coast Guard at one point in my life....the guys used to go down to the local bar at lunch...sometimes there were strippers there....they thought I wouldn't go with them, since I was a VERY straight woman...I wouldn't take them up on their offer of lunch down at the 'Dirty D'...fooled them...one day...I went with them....they were too funny! Guys are sooo different when they can't act out for their guy friends! I was 'their' voice of reason. The guys were NOT perverts...I think it was more of a pack mentality...if one of them wants to go...they all had to go in order to 'fit in'. I was asked to go again....but, ya know...been there, done that.
I only posted that to let you know that guys who go to strip bars...well, I think a very small number are pervs...most just go to have a look...like subscribing to Playboy...yea, I know...just for the great articles.

Yours was a powerful, well written essay detailing Hannity's strengths and skills.

However, it failed to explain why Sean has seemed to have lost all his senses while engaged in this fanatical display of support for a mealy-mouthed, spineless Jack Ryan.

wow! Sean needs to read that...I love Sean Hannity. He is the working-man's (sorry, I am never PC...we all know who a working man is...you can put in your own WO before the man) talk show host. There are times when he 'works it' a bit too hard or long...on his ditractors' hit pieces...but, all in all...yea...he is 'us'.
Yet, if he says 'hyperbole' (hy-per-bo-lee) one more time...I might tune him out. But, that is what endears me to him...I don't think he is undereducated...what I think is that he is just a guy. He finds a word....and uses it til he can't use it anymore. My word lately is 'absolutely'! My word is better than Sean's...but, we are in a different spectrum. I have a choice, when I am listening to talk radio....Sean or Michael (and I know ya'll know who I am talking about)...I move on down the dial to Sean....Michael makes me wanna shout....'would ya tone it down!!!'. It's worse than nails on a chalkboard...though, I can read Michael....I can't listen.
Enough of my ranting....thanks for your post, writer!

"However, it failed to explain why Sean has seemed to have lost all his senses while engaged in this fanatical display of support for a mealy-mouthed, spineless Jack Ryan."

It's an old essay. I wrote it not long after my Rush Limbaugh is "The Passion" essay. Everytime I see a Sean Hannity post, I put it in there so people can read it. As to your point, I agree with you. It doesn't make sense, which is one of my little disagreements with Sean. Hey, no one's perfect.

But for your keen eye and wonderful analytical skills, you've a won link to my new political thriller. Here it is: http://www.whiskeycreekpress.com/books/electivedecisions.shtml.

Thanks for the wonderful compliments on the essay and enjoy the sample chapters.

P.S. I plug this shamelessley every chance I get.

Jack says "NO" . . . sort of

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

By The Leader-Chicago Bureau

NEW YORK -- Jack says "NO" -- sort of . . .

Wednesday night on the Hannity and Colmes cable television show, Jack Ryan, after being featured on Sean Hannity's syndicated radio show during the afternoon, answered the question that has been raised over the past few days as the Illinois Republican Party has been struggling to find a viable candidate to replace Ryan, who withdrew from the candidacy on June 25.

The interview featuring Ryan ended with the following exchange:

SEAN: Will you consider getting back in this race?

JACK: Nothing has changed since my decision two weeks ago.

SEAN: Answer my question -- will you consider getting back in this race?

JACK: No.

SEAN: Under no circumstances . . .

JACK: Unless 25,000 people show up at my house and say we want Jack Ryan!

SEAN: If 25,000 people show up in front of your house, you'll consider it . . .

JACK: Yes, I'll consider it.

SEAN: How about 10,000?

JACK: How about 5,000? How about 50, how about 10? Like in the Biblical story . . .

SEAN: How about 5,000? If 5,000 show up in front of your house, you'll consider it, saying "Run, Jack, Run"?

JACK: Is this you orchestrating this? I'll consider it, how's that?

SEAN: Okay, well I think it's a privacy issue, and this is setting a precedent. . .

So the question is, "Did Jack say yes or no?"

I'm sure Sean's read it. He lurks on FR. And just like Rush, someone probably pointed it out to him a while ago when I first posted it.
