Ted Rall scrawls racial slur against Rice
Ted "Gump" Rall ^ | 7.7.04

Posted on 07/07/2004 2:08:22 PM PDT by mhking

I'm not going to post the cartoon here - if you want to see the offensive drek, go there and see it for yourself.

I'm so sick and tired of left-wing racists getting a f****** pass from everyone...

Does this junk actually make it into newspapers?

The amazing thing is Rall is actually published in magazines and journals. Newsweak is bad enough but he is published in supposedly top line political journals such as Foreign Policy.

There is something weird about the high level acceptance and publication he is given.

Well, post 15 beat me to passing this along to the USSS. This drek is a political cartoon? This kind of scrawl is the product of a person who needs some serious Thorazine!

I don't get it. Has vulgarity replaced wit and humor, in this brave new world?

That is sick. Did any paper actually print that cartoon?

See my post #102.

He is published in very high level journals. It is weird the respect he is given.

This turd has crossed the line TOO many times but THIS is beyond that line. There has to be an outcry, folks. WHAT can we do to stop that kind of vile spewing?!

There is an easy way to solve this problem. Take Raal's cartoon, photoshop it with the names of liberals (Brazille, Jackson, Kerry, etc). Make a large drawing and send it to every major Dem.

Sit back, watch the uproar.

Far from being marginalized by the left;

In 1996, he was one of three Finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. He was one of the New York Times' most reprinted cartoonists in 1997, 1999 and 2001. He also did color strips for both Time Magazine and Fortune Magazine from 1998 to 2001. He was awarded the 1998 Deadline Club Award by the Society of Professional Journalists for his cartoons. Rall received first place in both the 1995 and 2000 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for Cartoons. The award, founded in 1968, recognizes distinguished work on behalf of disadvantaged Americans.

Rall needs a severe @ss kicking.

Although it would bring a lawsuit, someone (with the time/money) should start a
"Ted Rall Watch"...publishing as close to real time, Rall's location.

This would be a service to decent humans so that they can avoid him in public
and avoid the rational and involuntary impulse to open a can of Whoop@$$ on him.
And it would keep Rall safe from such an occurrence.

But knowing folks like Rall, he'd go nuts at that sort of help and call the lawyers.

The solution to all of this is VERY simple. News papers are already in a financial melt down, but just not buying the papers won't work. Threaten a boycott of any local or national business that advertises in any paper that publishes this crap and you will see an effect. I suggest phone and email messages to the businesses and the paper will either go out of business or drop the crap....both are sufficient to stop this.

I vaguely remember reading a quote about benevolent oppressors being worse than malevolent ones. A benevolent oppressor isn't held in check by conscience.

It was probably one of these:

"Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
-- C.S. Lewis, The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, Res Judicatae (June 1953)

"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."
-- Louis D. Brandeis, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Dissenting, Olmstead v. US, 277 US, 438 (1928)
