IMHO, the Bush campaign has been waiting to see who Kerry picked in order to tailor their ads. Plus the fact that other than the politically tuned-in nobody pays much attention to this stuff right now.
I just heard they released a new ad this morning called "First Choice" featuring McCain.

You are right about the campaign and that ad with McCain was sitting there waiting for the VP announcement! Great to showcase Kerry's #1 pick for VP who happens to be supporting Pres Bush!
